Stand ard inst allatio n 1. Turn the co mputer on . 2. Enter the Syst em Set up routine. (Ref er t o your com puter use r’s guide. System Setu p may be called Se tup, BIOS Setu p or CM OS Setup. ) If your com puter uses an auto matic se tup utilit y, see the cautio n below.

4. Select drive typ e 2 for your new ST 3660 A. If you r com puter doe s not offer drive type 2 , use the following values: 61 5 cylinde rs, 4 heads an d 17 secto rs. Not e. The se are interim drive type v alues that allow you to acc ess t he dr ive f or extract ing the installat ion files.
EZ- Dr ive is easy and safe to use and versat ile. If you a l rea dy have a drive installed, EZ- Drive will not alter its forma t a nd file s unles s you inst ruct i t to ov erride the partition and format .

• Chec k for I/O addr ess conflict s. To isolat e the conflict , first ve rify that the drive and hos t ad apter are compa tible wit h your co mput er by removing a l l the periphe ral adapt er ca rds (power mus t be o ff) exce pt for the video car d.
• Chec k all cables . Ma ke su re the video card- cab l e s are se- cu rely attac hed. • While the com p uter is powe red down, remove the drive host ad apter . I f the screen turns o n af ter you rebo ot, the host ad apter may b e inc ompat ible or defective.

Disabl ing Max imum O verdr ive You can disable Max imum O verdr i v e during the installat i o n proc- ess or an ytime afterwar d. To disable it during the ins tallat ion, select the Change Inst all Fea tures o ptio n in the Optio ns dialog box that appea rs whe n the for mat com pletes.
