29 English TURNING THE CAMERA ON AND OFF T urning on the camera 1 Open the monitor unit, and press the ON/OFF button for at least 1 second. h The camera t urns on. h If the date and time ha v e not been set, t he screen to set the date and time is shown on the monitor (page 32).
English 30 SETUP T urning on the camera when t he powe r save (sleep) mo de is active In order to pr eserve battery pack po wer , the power sav e (sleep) function will automatically tur n off the camera after 1 minute of no use during shooting, or 5 minutes of no use during playbac k (factory-preset setting).

About the standby mode i T o turn off the camera only briefly , you can close the monitor unit to put th e camera in the standb y mode.
English 32 SETUP D A TE AND TIME SETTING The camera will record the date and time an image or audio recording is taken so that y ou can disp la y them during pla yback. Theref ore, bef ore capturing images, mak e sure the correct date and time are set.
