T urning Y our Phone ON and OFF T urning Y our Phone ON T o turn y our phone on, press . Once your phone is ON, it displays “Looking for ser vice... ” which indicates that your phone is searching for a signal. When your phone finds a signal, it automatically enter s standby mode.
Charging the Battery Y our phone comes with a rechargeable batter y . Y ou should charg e the batter y as soon as possible so you can begin using your phone.
Answering Calls 1. Make sure your phone is on. If your phone is of f, incoming calls go to voicemail. 2. When a call comes in, answer the call b y pressing . Depending on your settings, your phone notifies you of incoming calls in the following ways: The phone rings or vibrates.
Calling Emergency Numbers Y ou can place calls to 911 (dial and press ), even if your phone is locked or your account is restr icted. Once the dial is made, you will enter Emergency mode. The phone tries to dial to 911 automatically until the dial will be connected.
End-of-Call Options After receiving a call from or making a call to a phone number that is not in your Inter nal Phone Book, the phone n umber and the duration of the call is displa yed. Y ou can display the following menu options by pressing within 10 seconds after disconnecting the call.
Finding a Phone Number Y ou can search Inter nal Phone Book entr ies for phone number s that ends with the digits you entered. T o find a phone number: 1. Enter the last four or more digits of the number and press . The more number s you enter , the more specific the search becomes.
2. Y our Phone’ s Settings Reminder: T o access the phone’ s main menu, press from standby mode. Menu items may be selected by highlighting them with the Navigation key and pressing .

Airplane Mode When your phone is in Airplane mode, it cannot send or receive any calls (except for 911 dialling) or access online information. Y ou may still use the phone’ s other featur es, such as V oice Memos, Calculator , Calendar , etc., while you are in Airplane mode.
Setting Call Answer This featur e enables you to answer incoming calls b y opening the clamshell so that you don’t have to press . 1. Press to access the main menu. 2. Highlight Settings and press . 3. Highlight Others and press . 4. Highlight Call Answer and press .

Unlocking Y our Phone 1. Press (left softkey). 2. Enter your lock code. Changing the Lock Code 1. From the Secur ity Menu display (See “ Accessing the Security Menu” on the previous page), highlight Others and press . 2. Highlight Change Lock and press .
Using Special Numbers Y ou can save three special number s in addition to your Internal Phone Book entries (the same number may be in both directories). Y ou can make and receive calls from special numbers even when your phone is loc ked. T o add or replace a special number: 1.

The following chart indicates what you’ ll see depending on where you’ re using your phone.

47 6. Managing Call History Viewing History Y ou’ll find the Call Histor y feature ver y helpful. It is a list of the last 20 phone numbers (or Inter nal Phone Book entr ies) for each calls that you placed, accepted, or missed. Call Histor y makes redialling a number fast and easy .

Adding a W ord to the T9 Database If a word you want to enter does not display as an option when you are using T9 T ext Input, you can add it to the database. 1. Select the Alphabet input mode. (See “Selecting a Character Input Mode” on the previous page.

Storing Special Numbers in the Phone Book Using the Pause Feature Generally , when you call an automated system like voicemail boxes or credit card companies, you are required to enter a passw ord or calling card number .
Adding an Event to the Scheduler 1. Press to access the main menu. 2. Highlight Calendar and press . 3. Highlight the day you want to add an event b y using the Navigation ke y and press . 4. Press (right softke y) to display the options. 5. Highlight Add Event and press .
Editing an Event 1. From the Event list display , highlight one of the ev ents and press . 2. The event details appear . 3. Select the box under each item y ou want to edit and pr ess . (See “ Adding an Event to the Scheduler” on page 63 for options.
Editing a Call Alarm 1. From the Event list display , highlight one of the call alarms and press . 2. The call alarm details appear . 3. Select the box under each item y ou want to edit and pr ess . (See “ Adding a Call Alarm to the Scheduler” on page 65 for options.
Deleting Items from the T o Do List 1. From T o Do List display , highlight the item y ou want to erase and press (right softke y). 2. Highlight Erase Item , Erase Selection , or Erase All and press . Erase Item erases an item from the T o Do List.
Using Y our Phone’ s T ools Using the Calculator 1. Press to access the main menu. 2. Highlight T ools/Extras and press . 3. Highlight Calculator and press . 4. Enter numbers using your keypad. Press (left softkey) to insert a decimal point. 5. Press the appropr iate Navigation key for an arithmetic option.
73 Downloading through Wireless W eb Y our phone allows you to download images (screen savers), ringers, games, etc., from a website. It is also possible to download from cer tain menus (Phone Book, Ringer Setting, or Display Setting). T o download a file from the W eb: 1.
Confirming the Downloaded Data The downloaded data will be automatically classified as games, ringers, ima ges (screen savers) or an application folder . However , if any data has a dif ferent categor y , it is classified as a Dynamic folder . If data doesn’t belong to any of the above categories, it is classified in the Other s folder .
T o confirm the downloaded applications folder: 1. Press to access the main menu. 2. Highlight Downloads and press . 3. Highlight Applications and press . 4. Highlight the downloaded data you want to confirm and press . 5. Select Run from the options and press .
Icon Indication Sorting the downloaded data in memory size order The files downloaded via website are stored in alpha betical order . If you want to store the data in memor y size order , follow these instructions: 1. Press to access the main menu. 2.
Erasing old downloaded data to free space for new data If you tr y to do wnload new data when the downloaded data’ s memor y is full, the war ning message appears. Y ou will be prompted to erase some old downloaded data. T o get new download data: 1.

Setting Up Screen Call This featur e enables you to answer incoming calls b y using pre- recorded announcements, either one that is pre-recorded or one that you record. Y ou can also record the caller’ s message into the V oice Memo list. T o listen to the message, see “Re viewing V oice Memos ”on page 85.
Recording Customized Announcement 1. Follow steps 1 to 4 on the previous pa ge. 2. Highlight Custom and press (right softke y). 3. Highlight Record and press . If your announcement has already been recorded, select Ye s or No for overwriting. 4. Press to start the 1st recording.

93 92 Setting Self-timer T o activate the Self-timer and get yourself in on the picture: 1. With the phone open and in Camera mode, press (right softke y). 2. Highlight Self-timer and press . 3. Highlight the length of delay you want the timer to use ( 10 seconds or 5 seconds ) and press .
Note: The and icons next to entry’ s names represent Mobile Phone and email. When entering a new entry , use the left/right Navigation key to toggle to the correct icon for the entry. Note: Only the email address or the phone number may be selected for a recipient.
Press (right softke y) to display the following options: Camera to switc h to Camera mode. Save to W allet to save a picture to the Picture W allet.
99 T ip: In expanded view , press the up or down Navigation key to view a picture’ s caption and number/count (for example 1/10 is the first of 10 stored pictures) at the bottom of the display screen. The Save to Wallet and Uploaded icons also appear , if applicable.
Sharing Online Picture Messaging 1. From the online Picture Messaging InBo x, select a picture you wish to share and press (left softke y). 2. Highlight Phone Book or Online Addr . Book and press . 3. Select a recipient from your Internal Phone Book or Online Address Book, and press .
T o access your online Albums options from your Phone: 1. Display the album list in the online Picture Messa ging menu. (See “Managing Online Picture Messag ing From Y our Phone” on page 100). 2. Use your Navigation ke y to select an album (or InBox).
Displaying Messages T o display a Messag e from the messag e notification aler t, see “New Messa ges” on the previous pa ge. T o display a Messag e from the main menu: 1. Press to access the main menu. 2. Highlight Messaging and press . 3. Highlight T ext Msg and pr ess .

Message Options Several options are available when you display a folder list, message list, or message details. Folder List Options Highlight Inbox , Sent , Outbox , Drafts , or your defined folder and press (right softke y). T o select an option, highlight it and press .
Changing the Display Font Size of a Message After you display a Message in the Inbox, Sent, or your defined folder , press (right softke y) to display message options.
