5 All the saf ety and operating instructions should be read before the product is operated. Read all of the instr uctions given here and retain them for later use. Unplug this projector from A C pow er supply before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
6 Openings in the cabinet are provided f or ventilation. T o ensure reliable operation of the product and to protect it from ov erheating, these openings must not be bloc ked or cov ered. CA UTION Hot air is exhausted from the e xhaust vent. When using or installing the projector , the follo wing precautions should be taken.
7 Use the projector properly in specified positions. Improper positioning may reduce the lamp lif e and result in sev ere accident or fire hazard. This projector can project the pict ure in upward, down ward, or inclined position in perpendicular direction to the horizontal plane.
8 Use the hand grip when moving the projector . Replace the lens cap and retract the adjustable f eet to prev ent damage to the lens and cabinet when carr ying. When the projector is not in use for an e xtended period, put it into a suitable case to protect the projector .
9 AC P ow er Cord for the Unit ed Kingdom: This cord is already fit ted with a moulded plug incorporating a fuse, the value of whic h is indicated on the pin face of the plug. Should the fuse need to be replaced, an A ST A approved BS 1 362 fuse must be used of the same rating, marked thus A S A .

19 When replacing the lens or using an optional lens, install the lens by follo wing the instructions below . Ask the sales dealer for detailed information of the optional lens specifications. Fit the lens to the projector by aligning the red dot on the lens with the red dot of the projector .

24 Basic Oper ation Connect the projector’ s A C pow er cord into an A C outlet. The PO WER indicator lights red. Press the ON/S T AND-B Y but ton on the top control or the ON but ton on the remote control. The PO WER indicator t urns green and the cooling fans start to operate.

A confirmation box appears and then select [Y es]. Stored data can be called up by selecting an “Image (1–4)” in the Image Le vel Selection on page 41 .

47 Select Digital zoom +. The On-Screen Menu disappears and “D . zoom +”appears. P ress the SELECT but ton to expand the image size. Use the P oint ed7 8 but tons to pan the image. The P anning function can work only when the image is larger than the screen size.
48 Screen Size Adjustment (V ideo, Component Signals) Press the MENU but ton to display the On-Screen Menu. 50 Captur e This function enables y ou to capture an image being projected to use it for a starting-up display or interval of presentations. Select Capt ure and press the SELECT but ton. A confirmation box appears and select [Y es] to capture the projected image.
51 Enter a Log o PIN code Af ter a correct Logo PIN code is entered, the follo wing dialog box appears. Change the Log o PIN code Logo PIN code can be c hanged to your desired four -digit number . Press the P oint d but ton to select “Logo PIN code c hange ” and then press the SELECT but ton.

53 Set ting This P rojector is equipped with 2 Projection Lamps. This function allows y ou to c hoose how to use the lamp as f ollows. Lamp1............ Alwa ys use Lamp 1 . Lamp2 ........... Alwa ys use Lamp 2. Lamp1/2......... Automatically switc h the active lamp from one lamp to the other .
54 Set ting Lamp control This function allo ws you to c hange brightness of the screen. Auto 1 .........The brightness according to the input signal (between Normal and Eco mode). Auto 2 ......... The brightness according to the input signal (between High and Eco mode).
55 Set ting P ointer Y ou can emphasiz e a part of the projected image with this function. Use the P oint ed but tons to c hoose either Spotlight or P ointer and press the SELECT but ton. Then use the P oint 7 8 but tons to select a size of the Spotlight (Large, Middle, or Small) or a pat tern of the P ointer (Arro w , Finger , or Dot).
56 Set ting Display This function decides whether to displa y On-Screen Display s. On ............................ Show all the On-Screen display s. Use this function when y ou want to project images af ter the lamp becomes bright enough. The f actor y default set ting is in this option.
57 Set ting Press the SELECT but ton at P ower management and this dialog box appears. Use the P oint 7 8 but tons to c hoose one of the three options. Press the P oint d but ton to select the timer , and then use the P oint 7 8 but tons to set timer .
58 Set ting Shutt er Shut ter function is av ailable to bloc k out light to the screen, so that the screen can be used for the other presenters. Prohibits the shut ter operation from the remote control and the projector's top control. Remote control .
59 Ke y lock Select Ke y loc k. Use the P oint ed but tons to c hoose one of the options and select [Y es] to activate it. Secur ity (Ke y lock and PIN code loc k settings) This function allo ws you to use the K ey loc k and PIN code loc k function to set the securit y for the projector operation.

63 Maint enance and Car e Filter Instructions Filter prev ents dust from accumulating on the optical elements inside the projector . Should the filter becomes clogged with dust particles, it will reduce cooling fans ’ ef f ectiveness and ma y result in internal heat buildup and adversely af f ect the lif e of the projector .
64 T urn of f the projector , press the Main On/Of f Switc h to Of f and unplug the A C pow er cord from the A C outlet. First, clean up the dust on the projector and around the air vents. 1 2 Slide and open the Filter cov er . 66 Auto Lamp Selection System This P rojector is equipped with 2 Projection Lamps. The Lamp Management F unction detects the status of lamps and shows the stat us on screen or on the LAMP 1/2 REPLA CE indicators.
67 When the total lighting time of a Projection Lamp reac hes the recommended tot al hours of use, the Lamp replacement icon appears on the screen and LAMP 1 / 2 REPLA CE indicator lights yello w . Replace the lamp with a new one promptly . The timing when the LAMP 1 / 2 REPLA CE indicator should light is depending on the lamp mode.
68 This projector uses a high-pressure lamp whic h must be handled carefully and properly . Improper handling may result in accidents, injury , or create a fire hazard. l Lamp lif e may dif f er from lamp to lamp and according to the environment of use.

70 Unplug the A C power cord bef ore cleaning. Gently wipe the projection lens with a cleaning cloth that contains a small amount of non-abrasive camera lens cleaner , or use a lens cleaning paper or commercially av ailable air blow er to clean the lens.
