4 Section 1: Getting Star ted This section describes the first steps to operat ing your phone. SIM Car d Infor mat ion When you subscribe to cellul ar network ser vices, yo u receive a pl ug-in Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card load ed with your subs cription de tails, s uch as your PIN, and availa ble o ptiona l services.
Getting Started 5 Installing an d R emo ving the SIM Ca rd Important !: The plug-in SIM card and its contacts can be easily damaged by scra tches or bending. Use caution when inserting or removing the SIM, and keep all SIM cards out of reach of children.
6 Not e: The angled corner of the SIM should be inserted as shown in the dia gram on the phone. The correct SIM orientation is necessar y for your phone to recognize the SIM.
Getting Started 7 3. With the batter y in position in the pho ne, al ign th e back cover on the phone (1) and slide gently upward (2) unt il the c over c li cks into place. Note: The batter y must be properly installed before charging the batter y or s witching on the phone.

18 Section 3: Call Functions This section describes how to make or answer a call. It also inc ludes the fe atures and functionalit y associ ated wit h making or ans wering a ca ll. Making a Call In Idle mode, enter the area code a nd phone number , and press the key .
Call Functions 19 R edialing the Last Nu mber All incoming, outgoing and mi ssed calls are listed in the Recent Calls Menu. If the number or caller is listed in your Co ntacts, the associated name displays. T o access t he Recent Calls menu: 1. F rom the Idle Screen, press Menu ➔ Recent Calls .

22 Calling Bac k a Missed Ca ll T o call back a missed ca ll number: 1. Press the Vi e w soft key . A list of the most re cently missed call s is disp layed. 2. Highlight the desired missed call. 3. Press the Options soft key , then select Call B ack .

24 Putting a C all on Hold Y ou can pl ace the current ca ll on hold whenever you want. Y ou can also make another call while you h ave a call in progress if your network supports this s er vice. T o put a call on hold: 1. While on a cal l, press Options ➔ Hol d to pl ace your ca ll on hold.

Press t o end the last rema ining call. In-Call Op tions During a ca ll, press t he SpkOn/SpkOff key to turn th e Speaker On or Off .
26 Mu ting or Se nding K eypad T one s These option s allow you to turn th e key t ones of f or on . If the Mute Keypad T one option is selec ted, it allo ws you to pr ess keys without hearing key tones during a call. Not e: T o communica te with answering machines or computerized telephone systems, the Send Keypad T one option must be selected.

28 Silent Mode Silent mode is conveni ent when you wish to stop the ph one from making a s ound, in a thea ter , fo r exampl e. In Idle mode, press and hold until the pho ne vibrates, the “S ilent profil e on” message a ppears on screen. The Silen t mo de icon is d i spla yed on t he screen .

Messages 35 Sent The Sentbox message box stores copies of mess ages you sent. Draft s The Drafts message box stores unsent message s that you want to edit or send at a later time. V oicemail Choosing this o ption dial s your vo icemail. My F older Y ou can elect to store mes sages in My F older .
36 Delete All The Dele te All functi on allo ws you to cl ear messages you no lo nger wish to store. Y ou ca n delete the me ssa ges in the sel ected messa ge folder (s) or you can choose to delete all messages at one time.
