Getting Started 9 SIM Card Information 1. Lift up the memor y card cover , loca ted on the right side of the phone as shown. Make sure the mi croSD’ s gold contact pins face downward. 2. The following is the incorrect meth od for inserting the Memory Card.
10 3. With the batter y in position on the phone , place the cover back on the handset and slide it in until it c licks. Charging a Batter y Y our phone is powered by a rechargeable Li -ion batter y . Use the travel ada ptor to charge the battery , and use only Sam sung approved batteries and chargers.
Getting Started 11 SIM Card Information 1. Plug the connector of the tra vel adaptor in to the jack on the side of the phone. Warning!: The previous illust ration displ ays the incorrect method for connecting the charger . If attempted, damage to the ac cessory port will occur therefore voiding the phone’s warranty .
12 Low Batter y I ndicator When the battery is weak an d only a few minutes of talk time remain, a warning tone sounds, the “Low battery” message repeats at regular intervals on the display , and the empty ba ttery icon blinks. The backlight turns off to conser ve the remaining battery power .

The more bars you see, the more power you have remaining. Displays when the phone’ s profile is set to Normal .

34 123 The numeric mode allows you to enter numbers. SYM The symbols mode allows you to ente r symbols, such as punctuation marks. The text input mo de indicator displays on the sc reen when you are in a field that allows you to enter c haracters (such as in a t ext message).

Understanding Y our Phonebook 47 Phonebook Entry Options 1. When the Idle mode displays, press the Phonebook (Right) soft key . 2. Enter the first few letters of the name in the Contacts field. The Phonebook entrie s are then list ed, starting with the first entr y matching your input.
48 • FDN Contacts : Fixed Dialling Number mode restricts your outgoing calls and SMS calls t o a limite d set of phone numbers. When this feature is enabled, you can make calls only to phon e numbers stored on the SI M FDN list. • Print via Bluetooth : sends the selected contac t entry information to a Bluetooth compat ible printer .
