Chapter 2 47 BIOS Setup Utility The BIOS Setup Utility is a hardware configuration prog ram built into y our computer ’s BIOS (Basic Input/ Output System). Y our computer is already prop erly configured and optimi zed, and you do not need to run this utility .
48 Chapter 2 Invoking BIOS Setup The setup functi on can only be invoked by pressi ng F2 when Press <F2> to enter Setup messa ge is prompted on the bottom of screen during POST . The setup uses a menu driven interfac e to allow the user to configure their system.

62 Chapter 3 General Information Before Y ou Begin Before proceeding with the disassembly procedure, make su re that you do the following: 1. T urn off the power to the system and all peripherals. 2. Unplug the AC adapter and all power and signal cab les from the system.

Chapter 4 95 Intermittent Problems Intermittent system hang problems can be caused by a variety of reasons th at have nothing to do with a hardware defect, such as: cosmic radiation, electros tatic discharge, or software errors. FRU replacement should be considered only when a recurring prob lem exists.
96 Chapter 4 Undetermined Problems The diagnostic proble ms does not identify wh ich adapter or device failed, which in stalled devices are incorrect, whether a short circuit is suspected, or whether the system is inoperative.
