Assembling 9 T o install the SIM or USIM card and battery , If the device is on, press and hold [ 1 ] and select Ye s to turn it o . Remove the back co ver . 2 Be careful not to damage y our nger nails when you remov e the back cover . Inser t the SIM or USIM card with the gold-coloured 3 contacts facing down.
Assembling 10 Inser t the batter y . 4 Replace the back cov er . 5 Charge the ba tter y Before using the devic e for the rst time, you must char ge the battery . Y ou can charge the device with the pr ovided travel adapt er or by connecting the device to a PC with a PC data cable .
Assembling 11 Charge with the tr avel adapt er › Plug the small end of the trav el adapter into the 1 multifunction jack . Connecting the trav el adapter improperly ma y cause serious damage to the device . Any damage caused b y misuse is not cov ered by the warranty .
Assembling 12 When the battery is fully charged (the battery icon is no 3 longer moving), unplug the tra vel adapter fr om the device and then from the pow er outlet. Do not remov e the batter y before r emoving the travel adapter . D oing this may cause damage to the devic e.
Assembling 13 Inser t a memor y card T o store additional multimedia les , you must inser t a memor y card. Y our device accepts microSD ™ or microSDHC ™ memor y cards with maximum capacities of 16 GB (depending on memor y card manufacturer and type).
Assembling 14 › Remov e the memor y card Ensure that the devic e is not currently using the memory 1 ca rd. Remove the back co ver . 2 Push the memory card gently until it disengages from the 3 device, and then pull it out of the memory card slot. Replace the back cov er .

Getting star ted 21 Use the t ouch screen Y our device ’ s touch screen lets you easily select items or per form functions. Learn basic actions to use the touch screen. T o avoid scra tching the touch screen, do not use ● sharp tools. Do not allow the touch screen t o come into contact ● with other electrical devices.

Getting star ted 24 Add ne w main menu screens › In Idle mode, press the Menu key to acc ess M enu mode. 1 Select 2 Edit at the top left of the screen. Rotate the device to landscape view . 3 Select 4 to add a new main menu screen. Select to remo ve the screen from the main menu .
Getting star ted 25 Use widgets Widgets ar e small applications that provide con venient functions and information on your idle scr een. Some of your widgets connect to web services. Getting star ted 26 Manage web-based widgets › Y ou can select a widget prole to connect to web services and view downloaded widgets. In Menu mode, select S ettings → Menu and widgets → W idget . C ustomise your devic e Get more from y our device by customising it to match y our pref erences.

Getting star ted 30 › Activat e the mobile track er When someone inserts a new SIM or USIM card in your device, the mobile tr acker feature will automatically send the contact number to specied recipients t o help you locate and reco ver your device .
Getting star ted 31 Enter t ex t Y ou can enter te xt by selecting charac ters on the vir tual keypad or by inputting handwriting on the screen. Change the te xt input method › When you tap the t ext input eld, the input panel with the QWERT Y keyboard appears by default.

Communication 36 C ommunication Calling Learn to use calling functions, such as making and answering calls, using options av ailable dur ing a call or customising and using call-relat ed featur es. › Make and answ er a call Y ou can use the buttons or the touch scr een when you make, accept, end , or reject calls.
Communication 37 Answ er a c all When a call comes in, pr ess [ 1 ]. When the device is ringing , press the V olume key to adjust the volume , or press and hold the Volume key down to mute the ringt one. F or a video call, press [ 2 ] and select Show me to allow the caller to see you .
Communication 38 › Use a headset By plugging a headset into the device , you can make and answer calls: T o redial the last call, pr ess the headset button, and then ● press and hold the button. T o answer a call, pr ess the headset button. ● T o end a call, press the headset butt on.
Communication 39 T o switch the current call to a video call , selec t ● → Swit ch to video call . T o dial a second call, place the rst call on hold and then ● dial a new number . T o answer a second call , selec t ● New call when a call waiting tone sounds.
Communication 40 T o adjust the brightness, select ● → Brigh tness or tap and hold your image and select Brightness . T o zoom in or out, select ● → Zoo m .
Communication 41 Select the number input eld and enter a number to 3 reject. Select an option under 4 Match criteria . Select 5 S ave . T o add more numbers, r epeat steps 2-5. 6 Make a fak e call Y ou can simulate incoming calls when y ou want to get out of meetings or unwan ted con versations.
Communication 42 Y ou can also make fake calls appear more r ealistic by showing a caller ID image and caller ’ s name or number . In Menu mode, select 1 Settings → A pplications → C all → F ake call . Select 2 Name or Number . Enter a name or number .

Communication 45 Option F unction Call costs View c ost records f or your calls , such as the cost of the last call and the total cost of all calls. Y ou can also set the currency and price per unit, or cost limit to restrict calls accor ding to your calling plan; The cost coun ter may be unavailable depending on y our SIM or USIM card .
Communication 46 Select 5 Send to send the message. If you decide not to send a message immediately , y ou ● can save it t o the draf t folder f or future use. If an error occurs while you ar e sending a message, it ● will be saved in the outbo x so you can tr y to resend it later .

Communication 49 › Listen to v oice mail messages If you have set missed calls t o be diver ted to the voic e mail ser ver , callers may leave v oice messages when you do not answer incoming calls . T o access your voic e mail inbox and listen to v oice mail messages, In Menu mode, select 1 Ke ypad , and then tap and hold 1 .
Communication 50 Y ou can now use a multimedia templat e to create a new multimedia message. F rom the MMS card list , tap and hold a template and select Send . Y our template will open as a new multimedia message. › Crea te a folder to manage messages Learn to cr eate folders to manage y our messages according to your pr eferences and needs .

Communication 54 › Synchr onise emails with the Exchange server After conguring sync settings, y ou can synchronise your emails with the Exchange server . T o congure the Exchange ser ver , In Menu mode, select 1 Email → → Settings → Email ac counts → A dd account → Ex change ActiveS ync .
Communication 55 IM Learn to cha t with friends and family from any of the univ ersal instant messengers. In Menu mode, select 1 IM . Select a messenger . 2 Enter y our user name and passwor d to sign in. 3 Chat with friends and family instantly . 4 Other instant messengers may be provided depending on your r egion or service provider .
Entertainment 56 Ent er tainment Camer a Learn how t o capture and view photos and videos. Y ou can take photos at r esolutions up to 2048 x1536 pix els (3.2 megapixels) and videos at r esolutions up to 320 x 240 pixels . Photos ar e saved in jpg f ormat and videos are saved in mp4 format.

Connectivity 90 C onnec tivit y Bluetooth Bluetooth is a short-range wireless communications technology capable of ex changing information over a distance of about 10 m without requiring a ph ysical connection. Y ou do not need to line up the devices to beam inf ormation with Bluetooth.
