Assembling 9 Inser t the SIM card. 3 Place the SIM card into the phone with the gold- • coloured contacts facing down. If you do not insert a SIM card, you can only use • your phone ’ s non-network services and some menus.
Assembling 10 Charge the batt er y Before using the phone for the rst time , you must charge the battery. Y ou can charge the phone with the provided trav el adapter or by connecting the phone to a PC with a PC data cable. Use only Samsung-approved char gers and cables.
Assembling 11 Plug the large end of the trav el adapter into a pow er 3 outlet. Y ou can use the phone while it is charging , but it • may take longer to fully charge the battery . While charging , the phone may heat up . This • is normal and should not aect your phone’ s lifespan or performance.
Assembling 12 When the battery is fully charged (the battery icon is 4 no longer moving), unplug the PC data cable from the phone and then from the PC. Inser t a memor y card (optional) T o store additional multimedia les, y ou must inser t a memory card.
Assembling 13 › Remove the memory card Ensure that the memory card is not in the middle of an 1 operation. Remove the back cov er . 2 Pull the memory card out of the memory card slot.
Assembling 14 Attach a hand str ap (optional) Remove the back cov er . 1 Slide a hand strap through the hand strap hole and 2 hook it over the small projection. Replace the back cover . 3 › F ormat the memor y card Formatting y our memor y card on a PC may cause incompatibilities with your phone.

Y ou can also set the currency and price per unit, or cost limit to restrict calls according to y our calling plan; The cost counter ma y be unavailable depending on your SIM card.
Communication 30 › Set up an MMS prole T o send and receive multimedia messages , you must activate a connection prole for connecting to the MMS server . I n addition to proles that are pr eset by your service provider , you can add your own connection prole .

Communication 34 › Create a f older to manage messages Learn to creat e folders to manage your messages according to y our preferences and needs. In Menu mode, select 1 Messages → My folders . Press < 2 Options > → Crea te folder . Enter a new folder name and press the tr ack pad.
Communication 35 In Menu mode, select 1 Messages → Settings → SOS messages → Sending options . Press < 2 Change > to turn on the SOS messaging feature . Select 3 Recipients to open the recipient list. Enter a recipient number and pr ess the track pad.
