15 I NSTALLATION 2. I NSTALLATION 2.1. N ETWORK S ETUP 2.1.1. Basic Requirements For the IP Radio device to work properly under yo ur existing network env ironment, your network must featu re the foll.

Configuration as a Wired Client If there is no 802.11b/ g wireless network in your home, and only a wired 802.3 network is available, th e IP Radio dev ice can conne ct to the wired ne twork via an Ethe rnet cable. In this case, bef ore powering th e device, you ne ed to plug the Ethern et cable into th e RJ45 connector.

Configuration as a Wireless Access Point (AP) If you wish to ext end your wireless network coverage range, you ne ed to add new acce ss points to spec ific locations i n your home . This will enabl e other wireless not ebook PCs and network device s to access the extended wire less network.

25 I NSTALLATION 2.1.5. Windows Media Player 11: Installa tion and connection Please follow the i nstructions be low: Step 1: Download the WMP11. Download the Windows Media Player 11 (WMP11) in stallation file, e. g., wmp11- windowsxp-x86-en u.exe, from the Mi crosoft web site.
26 I NSTALLATION Step 2: Activ ate the Me dia Player . Find the "Wind ows Media Player" icon in the Prog ram list, and click o n this program to activate it. Step 3: Switch from "Now Pla ying" to "Libra ry" by clicking on the Library Ta b to manage the content an d share your m edia.
27 I NSTALLATION Step 4: Add your Medi a content to the WM P11 media libr ary. Click on the "Li brary" tab aga in to access th e pull-down menu.
28 I NSTALLATION You can put all of the mus ic files in the D:Music directory to be able to add the folder to the s hare list. You will see that th e specified fold er will have been ad ded to the WMP11 monitor folder list. Click on the OK butto n. A pop-up wi ndow will be dis played, showing you that the WM P11 is searching for the media files.
29 I NSTALLATION You can now browse a nd manage your me dia content usin g the WMP11 Library manager. Step 5: Share the WMP11 media l ibrary. As in to Step 4, click on "Med ia Sharing" to activate the media sharing fun ction.
30 I NSTALLATION The following dialog window s will be displ ayed. Select the "Sha re my media" b ox and click on the "OK" button. The WMP11 will detect the ava ilable network d evices in yo ur LAN. The following window shows th at no devices ha ve been dete cted.
31 I NSTALLATION If the IP Radio devic e is already conn ected to your home network, a screen similar to the fo llowing may be displayed, s howing you that t he WMP11has detected a network device named " My DU@L RADIO 700". Step 6: Manage the media sharing setting s.
32 I NSTALLATION Step 7: Authorize access from your IP Radio de vice. The WMP11 ac cess control settings are s imple. When th e WMP11 detect s a new network device (as shown on the final scre en in Step 5), you need to decide whether you want to allow or deny the requests from tha t device.
33 I NSTALLATION Click on the " Allow" button. Step 8: Establish the connec tion between the I P Radio device and the WMP11 serv er. On the IP Radio device, sele ct the "Media Server" func tion in the main menu (or press the "Med ia Player" hot key on t he remote cont roller).
34 I NSTALLATION 2.1.6. Installation & Conn ection to Windows Media Connect V2.0 This software wil l allow you to broa dcast musical fil es from your PC to the wifi network. Please follow the i nstructions be low: Step 1: Download the WMC server. Download the Wind ows Media Connec t (WMC) installati on file, wmcsetu p.
35 I NSTALLATION Select the approp riate one for yo ur computer. You ma y wish to put all of the music files in the directory D:M usic, in which case you can select "Let me choose which fo lders" to add the folder to the share list. Press 'Finis h' to complete the Windows me dia connect setu p process.
36 I NSTALLATION Select the device and t hen click o n the 'Allow' button Then, press th e 'Close' bu tton to finish t he authorizatio n process. The IP Radio will then be able to retri eve the contents or service from the WMC server.
37 L ISTENING TO M USIC 3. L ISTENING TO M US IC The IP Radio device is a high-perform ance audio player that can play mu sic from vari ous types of sourc e. You can use it to listen to I nternet ra dios all over the world, loca l FM broa dcasting services, mus ic files in your c omputer, and ev en music files in portable MP3 players.
38 L ISTENING TO M USIC It takes few secon ds to get the li st from the Inter net. The next sc reen is as follows . It means the IP Rad io has successful ly connected t o the Internet serv er and has retriev ed information from t he server.

40 L ISTENING TO M USIC 3.2. L ISTENING TO FM R ADIO To listen to mu sic or progra ms on local FM radio stations , select the "FM Radio" function in the main menu and th en press the "OK" button to activ ate the FM Radio fun ction.
41 L ISTENING TO M USIC When using the F M Radio function f or the first time, reme mber to plug the FM antenna plug into the FM a ntenna connector on the rear pane l. Stretch out th e antenna cab le as far as you can. Once the antenna ca ble is properly co nnected, activa te the "Update List" fu nction to scan the available FM stat ions.

L ISTENING TO THE MUSIC IN YOUR COMPUTER To listen to the music s tored in your own compute r, you need to install a nd activate th e media server utility fo r the computer in which your dig ital music is stor ed. Please refer to the section describing in stallation of t he Media Serv er.
43 L ISTENING TO M USIC The following mess age will be display ed while the device is detecting all availabl e media servers on your n etwork. It take s a few seconds to complete. The screen wil l then list all of the availabl e media server s that you are able to select.

L ISTENING TO THE M USIC ON YOUR USB DRIVE To listen to the mus ic on your USB drive or porta ble MP3 player, conn ect the USB drive to the USB connector on th e IP Radio devic e.

47 L ISTENING TO M USIC Warning ! : The interface of MP3 reader mu st be USB2. USB 1 is not guaran teed. Warning ! : Before disconnect ing the MP3 playe r, go to the setup menu and c hoose "Remove MP3 p layer". Select " Yes" to confirm.
48 A LARM 4. A LARM In addition to the music playba ck function, the IP Radio Device also provides a simple alarm function. There ar e two different alar ms, one to wake you up i n the morning, and an other used to remind you of important times of day, or dates .
49 A LARM If you decide to set the clock m anually, press the "OK" or the " " butto n to access the date and time screen. You can use the four directiona l buttons and th e OK button to set t he time. a. Use the " " and " " button s to switch between the items to be altered.

S OFTWARE U PDATION This function will allow you to proc eed the software u pdating by mean o f an USB2 key containing the programm file. You can visit the supplier's web site to check whe ther there is an y new firmware fo r this device to upgrade it.
56 M ISCELLANEOUS S ETUP F UNCTIONS Step 4: You can check whether the IP Radio upgrade has bee n has been succe ssful by checking t he F/W versio n in the menu "Se tupAdvan ced Setup Firmware Version". In this case, the versio n should be R1.
57 6. Appendix 6.1. Care and Maintenance Switch off your Radi o IP. Use a smooth and dry cloth to wipe it. Do no t use a rough cloth , powerful liquid cleaners, thinne r painting, alcohol nor other solvents to c lean it. These pro ducts can damage your IP Radio.
