23 Preparations Connection Before connection Read the owner’ s manual of the de vice you are connecting to the projector . Some computers cannot be used with or connected to this projector . Check f or an RGB output ter minal, suppor ted signal p.53 , etc.
24 Connecting the power cor d 1 Insert the power cord connector into the A C IN socket of the pr ojector . 2 Inser t the power cord plug into a wall or other power outlet. The ON/ST ANDBY indicator flashes green and the projector enters standby mode .
25 Operations T urning the power off 1 Press the ON/ST ANDBY button. When the setting of beep sound is [ On ], the projector beeps, and a message appears on the screen, confirming that you wish to shut off the power . T o shut off the pow er , press the ON/ST ANDBY button again.

28 Precautions Lamp characteristics may r arely cause the br ightness to fluctuate slightly . The LCD panel is made using e xtremely advanced technology . There ma y be blac k spots (pix els that do not light) or bright spots (pixels that are constantly lit) on the panel.
29 Operations Using hand y features Using auto setting (For computer input only) This function automatically sets up the projector to the optimum state. It sets up sampling phase, frequency and screen position, f or each type of the input signal by using simple oper ations.
30 Resizing image The projected image can be resized (z oomed in/out). Press the remote control’ s RESIZE button. Each time you press the RESIZE button, z oom ratio is up. Y ou can keep pressing. T o zoom out, press the remote contr ol’ s RESIZE button.
31 Operations Cutting off the picture and sound temporarily (Mute) When you w ant to project the images of another projector, o verhead projector , etc. temporarily , this projector’s images and sound can be turned off. Press the remote contr ol’ s MUTE button or the RETURN/ MUTE button on the pr ojector control panel.
32 Freezing the image (Freeze) The projected image can be frozen. This function is to be used to pause a video during a presentation, etc. Press the remote contr ol’ s FREEZE button. The picture pauses. (The F reeze function is released b y pressing the FREEZE button again.

44 A lamp is consumable supplies . If used f or e xtended periods, images will appear dark, and the lamp could burn out. This is characteristic of a lamp, and is not malfunction. (The lif etime of the lamp depends on condition of use.) If this happens , replace it with a new one .
45 Maintenance 5 Pull out the lamp. Loosen the 3 lamp locking scre ws, pull up the handle, and press the tab to remo ve the lamp . 6 Mount the new lamp. Align the orientation, press down the new lamp until the bottom is reached, and lock in place using the 3 lamp locking scre ws.
46 Notes and Precautions The [ Lamp time ] item in the Status display men u indicates the time of lamp use (as a rough guide) p.42 Please replace the lamp after 2000 hours of use with [ Lamp power ] in the Default setting 1 menu set to [ Standar d ], and 3000 hours of use with [ Lamp power ] in the Default setting 1 menu set to [ Low ].
