12 12 Getting star ted Dear RCA customer , Thank you for pur chasing the RCA Small W onder Camcorder . This product will let you recor d videos with high definition quality. Y ou can also manage your recor dings on your computer with the RCA Memory Manager included with this product.
13 13 3. Inser ting (or removing) SD memor y card An SD memory card (not included) is recommended for recor ding. Lift up the cover Push the card in until a click is heard • The card icon appears on the scr een with memory card inser ted. • T o remove car d, push card in until a click is heard , then slowly release the card .
14 5. Resetting the camcorder • T o reset the camcorder (if it is not functioning properly), press and hold the On/Off switch for mor e than 10 seconds. 6. Setting date and time • It is recommended to set the date and time befor e using the camcorder .

16 Switch on Operation modes There are thr ee basic modes for operating the camcorder: Video preview mode, Photo pr eview mode and Playback mode. It will always launch in video preview mode after being switched on. Refer to the diagram belo w for switching between modes and r ead relevant sections in the user manual for detailed operations.
17 Recording quality 1. In V ideo preview mode, pr ess to show the camcorder menu . 2. Press - or + t o highlight Quality within the V ideo Menu 3. Press REC ORD to select Quality which will then expose the choices of HD, HQ and WebQ . 4. Press - or + t o highlight the desired Quality from HD , HQ or W ebQ, then pr ess REC to save that setting .
18 Recording videos 1. In Video preview mode, press the r ed RECORD button t o begin recording . Elapsed time Video recor ding indicator • While recording , the red recor ding light on the camcorder front will turn on. 2. Press to pause a recor ding.
19 T o take photos 1. In Photo preview mode, press REC ORD to take photos. • The photo resolution is 3 megapix els which is interpolated from a 1 megapix el sensor . 2. After taking a photo , please allow a few seconds f or image processing befor e the next photo can be taken.
20 Playing back rec ordings 1. Press to enter Playback mode and start playback of the most recent rec ording (video/photo). Playback indicator Current file number/T otal number of files Elapsed playback time 2. P ress + or – during playback to adjust v olume (video only).
21 5. T o select another video, press or t o cue the previous or next video. Type of file ( Video/Photo) Duration of current file 6. When video pla yback stops, press MODE or RECORD t o return to Video preview mode.
22 Deleting T o delete one recor ding 1. Press or in Playback mode to select file. 2. Press DELETE . 3. P ress + or - to select One . 4. P ress the red REC ORD button to confirm delete. T o delete all recor dings 1. Press DELETE in Playback mode and press + or - t o select All .
23 Menu settings Using the camcor der menu 1. Press to show the camcorder menu on the screen. 2. P ress + or – to highlight a menu option. 3. Press to enter the highlighted menu option. 4. P ress + or – to change the setting . 5. Press to exit the current menu option.
24 Connecting to external devices Viewing videos on T V 1. Plug in the A V cable (provided) – Insert the single connector end into the camcorder (A V jack) and connect the double connector ends to the corresponding video (yellow) and audio (whit e) input jacks on the T V .
25 Recording videos t o VHS tape or DVD 1. Plug in the A V cable (provided) – Insert the single connector end into the camcorder and connect the double connector ends to corresponding video (yello w) and audio (white) inputs of the recor ding device ( VHS or DVD recorder).
