10 Preparation ˆ Prepar ation You can power yo ur scanner fro m any of three sources : • internal batteri es (not su pplied) • standard AC power (u sing an o ptional AC adapter ) • vehicl e bat.

Before you install alkaline or any other non- rechargeable batt eries, use a pointed obje ct such as a ballpoint pen to set ALKALINE JACK NI- CD inside the compartmen t t o ALKALINE . SCAN Sc ans the stored channels and scan lists. MAN Stops sc anning and lets you d irectly enter a channel number or frequency; manually stores talk group IDs in scan lists.

HOLD appe ars and the scanner stays on the cur rent ID. 2. If you want to listen to (an d hold) a dif ferent ID , use the num ber keys to enter that ID.
