Chapter 2 27 BIOS Setup Utility The BIOS Setup Utility is a hardware configuration prog ram built into y our computer ’s BIOS (Basic Input/ Output System). Y our computer is alre ady properly configured and optimi zed, and you do not need to run this utility .
28 Chapter 2 Navigating the BIOS Utility There are six menu options: Information, Main, Security , Boot, and Exit. Follow these instructio ns: • T o choose a menu, use the left and right arrow keys. • T o choose an item, use the up and down arrow keys.
Chapter 2 29 Information The Information screen displays a summary of your computer ha rdware information. NOTE: The system information is su bject to diff erent models. Parameter Description CPU T ype This field shows the CPU type and speed of the system.

NOTE: Please refer to “Remove HDD/BIOS Password” section if you need to know how to remove HDD/BIOS Password. The table below describes the parameters in this screen.

Chapter 4 91 Intermittent Problems Intermittent system hang problems can be caused by a variety of reasons th at have nothing to do with a hardware defect, such as: cosmic radiation, electros tatic discharge, or software errors. FRU replacement should be considered only when a recurring prob lem exists.
92 Chapter 4 Undetermined Problems The diagnostic proble ms does not identify wh ich adapter or device failed, which in stalled devices are incorrect, whether a short circuit is suspected, or whether the system is inoperative. Chapter 5 97 Clearing Password Check and BIOS Recovery This section provide s the standard operating proced ures for clearing the password and BIOS recovery for Aspire 4810T/4810TZ/4410T /4810TG Series. There is one Ha rdware Open Gap on the main board for clearing the password check and one Hotkey for enab ling BIOS Recovery .
98 Chapter 5 S teps for Clearing BIOS Password Check If the user sets the BIOS Password (Supervisor Passw ord and/or User Pa ssword) for a security reason, the BIOS will ask for the password during system POST or wh en the system enters into the BIOS Setup menu.
