13 English English Embedded keypad The embedded numeric keypad func tions like a desktop numeric keypad. It is indicated b y small ch aracters located on the upper right corner of the keycaps. To simplify the keyboard legend, cursor-cont rol key symbols are not printed on the keys.

15 English English Hot keys Using the Fn key with another key creates a hot key, providing a quick and conveni ent method f or co ntrolling various function s. To use a hot key, first hold down the Fn key. Next , press the second key in the combin ation.

17 English English The Euro symbol If your keybo ard la yout is set to United Stat es-International or United Kingdom or if you have a keyboard with a European layout, you can type the Euro symbol on your keyboard. Note for US keyboard users: The keyboard layou t is set when you first set up Windows.

19 English English Note : Keep your fingers, as well as the surface of the to uchpad, clean and dry. The touchpad is sensitive to yo ur finger movements: the lighter your t ouch, the better the response. Tapping hard will not increase the touchpad 's responsiveness.

They are design ate d as mail button, We b browser button, P1, P2, Bluetooth and Wire less buttons. The Wireless and Bluetooth bu ttons cannot be set by the user.

23 English English Connectivity options Your computer has buil t-in connec tivity options, enabling you to hoo k up to a network or commu nicate over a phon e line. Ethernet and LAN The integrated network feature allo ws you to connect your computer to an Ethernet-based (10/100 BASE-T) network.

Thi s means that you can co nnect to the Internet via a dialup acc ount with an ISP, log in to your n etwork from a remote location, or send faxes.
25 English English Audio Your computer includes an in tegrated stereo audio system. Built-in stereo speakers are located at the front on both sides of the unit. Volume is adjusted using software, such as Volume Control in Windows, Volume Fn keys, or any oth er application that provides a volume adjustment control.

33 English English To remove a battery pack: 1 Slide the battery release latch to relea se the battery. 2 Pull the battery from the battery bay. Charging the battery To charge the battery, first make sure that it is correctly installed in the battery bay.

Warning: Connect the AC adapte r as soon as possible after the battery-low warning app ears. Data will be lost if the battery to become fully depleted and the computer shu ts down.
