27 Using the Audio D J feature The Audio DJ fe ature allows you t o contr ol the playback of music CDs even with t he computer turned off, and launches the Windows Media Pla yer for audio playback.

Operating on battery power 34 Use th is process wi th a new batter y or with a batter y that's be en stored witho ut being used for a long time. If the comput er is to be stor ed for more than two weeks , we suggest you remove t he battery pack.
35 2 Press down on t he battery pack until you hear the battery latch c lick in place. T o remo ve the battery pack: 1 Slide the battery release lat ch to unlat ch the battery pack.
Operating on battery power 36 When the comput er is in use with the AC adapte r plug ged in, the c omputer fully charges the bat t er y pack in approximately 9 hours . Note: We sug gest that y ou charge the b attery pa ck before retir ing for the d ay , letting it charge o vernight before trave ling .
37 Batter y-low w ar ning Y ou never have to worry ab out batt ery p ower as long as you are using the A C adapter . However , when you operate the c omputer on battery power , pay extra attent ion to the Windows battery m et er . W arning! Connect the AC adapter to the c omputer as soon as possible.

T roubleshooting 76 No audio from the computer . Check the following: • The volume may be mut ed. In Windows , look at the volume co ntrol icon on the taskbar . If it is cro ssed-out , c lick on the icon and dese lect the Mute option. • The volume level ma y be too low .
77 T he f loppy driv e cannot acces s a diskette. Check the following: • Make sure the dis kette is properly in serted in the f loppy dri ve. • Make sure the di skette is f ormatted. • If the diskette is not t he caus e of t he problem, the floppy drive may be dirt y .
T roubleshooting 78 Refer t o the Windows Help and Support and the modem manual. W hy can ’t I charge my battery to 100% charged when it is 99-95 % charged? T o p r es erve the l ife of the bat t er y , the system on ly lets you charge th e battery wh en its capacity f alls below 95%.
