ASUS All-in-One PC PT2002 17 USB 3.0 ports These Universal Serial Bus 3.0 (USB 3.0) ports connect to USB 3.0 devices such as a mouse, printer , scanner, camera, and others. Headphone output/microphone input combo port This port allows you to connect your ASUS All-in-One PC to amplied speakers or headphones.

The audio featur es of this ASUS All-in-One PC are software -controlled. Built-in NFC tag The built-in NFC (Near F ield Communication) tag allows you t o conveniently shar e pictures.

ASUS All-in-One PC PT2002 32 Windows ® UI Windows® 8.1 c omes with a tile-based user inter face (UI) which allows you to organize and easily ac cess Window s® apps from the Start screen. It also includes the following features tha t you can use while working on your ASUS All-in-One PC.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2002 33 Hotspots Onscreen hotspots allow you t o launch programs and access the settings of your ASUS All-in-One PC. The functions in these hotspots can be activated using your mouse.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2002 34 Hotspot Action upper left corner Hover your mouse point er on the upper left corner then tap/click on the recent app ’ s thumbnail to revert back to that running app. If you launched more than one app , slide down to show all running apps.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2002 35 Hotspot Action top side Hover your mouse point er on the top side until it changes to a hand icon. Drag then drop the app to a new location. NOTE: This hotspot function only works on a running app or when you want to use the Snap feature .
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2002 36 Start button Windows® 8.1 f eatures the Start button which allows you t o switch between the two most recent apps y ou opened. The Start button may be accessed from the Start screen, while on Desktop mode, and on an y app that is currently open onscreen.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2002 37 Cont ext menu The context menu appears as a box lled with quick ac cess to some of the programs inside Windows® 8.1 when you right-click on the Start button. The context menu also includes the follo wing shut down options for your ASUS All-in-One PC: sign out, sleep , shut down, restart.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2002 38 Cust omizing your Start screen Windows® 8.1 also enables y ou to customize your S tart screen, allowing you to boot dir ectly to the Desktop mode and customize the arrangement of your apps onscreen. T o customize the settings of your Start screen: 1.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2002 39 Working with Windows ® apps Use your ASUS All-in-One PC’ s touch screen panel or optional keyboard and mouse to launch, customize, and close apps . Launching apps T ap an app to launch it. Position y our mouse pointer over the app then left-click or tap once to launch it.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2002 40 Cust omizing apps Y ou can move, r esize, unpin, or close apps from the S tart screen using any of the follo wing options: Moving apps T ap and hold the app tile then drag it to a new location. Double -click on the app then drag and drop the app to a new location.
T ap and hold the top side of the running app then drag it down to the bottom of the screen t o close it. 1. Move your mouse pointer on the t op side of the launched app then wait for the pointer t o change to a hand icon. 2. Drag then drop the app to the bottom of the screen to close it.
Ac cessing the Apps screen Aside from the apps already pinned on y our Start screen, you can also open other applications through the Apps screen. NOTE: A ctual apps shown onscreen may vary per model.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2002 43 Pinning more apps on the Start screen Y ou can pin more apps on the Start screen using the following options: 1. Launch the Apps screen. 2. T ap and hold an app you want to add on the start to activate the Customize bar . Once the Customize bar is launched , you may also tap other more apps to add on the Start screen.
Charms bar The Charms bar is a toolbar that can be triggered on the right side of your screen. It consists of several tools tha t allow you to share applications and provide quick acc ess for customizing the settings of your ASUS All-in-One PC.
Inside the Charm bar Search This charm allows you t o look for les, applications , or programs in your ASUS A ll-in-One PC. Share This charm allows you t o share applications via social networking sites or email. Start This charm reverts the display back to the Start screen.
Snap featur e The Snap featur e displays two apps side-by-side, allowing you to w ork or switch between apps. Snap bar ASUS All-in-One PC PT2002 46.
Using Snap Activate and use Snap through an y of the following options: 1. Launch the app you wish to snap . 2. Hover the mouse point on the top side of y our screen. 3. Once the pointer changes to a hand icon, dr ag then drop the app to the left or right side of the display panel.
Other keyboard shortcuts Using the keyboard, y ou can also use the following shortcuts to help you launch applications and navigat e W indows® 8.1. Switches between the Start screen and the last run.

1. Fr om the Start screen, launch the Desktop Mode. NOTE: F or more details, refer to the section Start screen under Using Windows® 8.1. 2. Right-click the V olume M ixer icon on the Windows® taskbar and click Playback devices . 3. Fr om the Playback screen, select Digital Audio (HDMI) .

Connecting to the Internet Access emails , sur f the Internet, and share applications via social networking sites on or from your ASUS All-in-One PC using wireless/Wi- Fi or wir ed connection. Setting up a W i-Fi c onnection in W indow s ® 8.1 1. Launch the Charm bar from the Start screen or from any application mode.
Conguring y our Wi-F i bandwidth 1. Launch the Desktop mode then right-click on on the taskbar . 2. Select Open Network and Sharing Center . 3. In the Network and Sharing Center window , selec t the W i-F i status beside Connections.
W ired connection 1. Use a network (RJ-45) cable to connect your ASUS All-in-One PC to a DSL/cable modem or a local area network (LAN). 2. T urn on your computer .
6. Click Obtain an IP address automatically and click OK . NOTE: C ontinue to the next steps if you are using PPP oE connection. 7. Return to the Network and Sharing C enter and then click Set up a new connection or network. 8. Select Connect to the Internet and click Nex t .
Setting up a Bluetooth Wireless Connection Bluetooth technology eliminates the need f or cables for connecting to Bluetooth-enabled devices. Examples of Bluetooth-enabled devices include ASUS All-in-One PCs, Desktop PCs, and mobile phones.
Turning your ASUS All-in-One PC off Do either of the following to shut down y our ASUS All-in-One PC: • T ap/clickfromtheCharmsbarthentap/click > Shut down to do a normal shutdown.

Chapter 4: Rec ov ering your system Entering the BIOS Setup BIOS (Basic Input and Output System) stores syst em hardware settings that are needed for sy stem startup in the ASUS All-in- One PC. In normal circumstances, the default BIOS settings apply to most conditions to ensure optimal performance.
Recovering your system Resetting your PC The Reset your PC option r estores your PC to its factory default settings. IMPORT ANT! Back up all your data before using this option.
Recov ering from a system image le Y ou can create a USB rec overy drive and use this to recov er your PC’ s settings. Creating a USB r ecov ery drive W ARNING! All les on your USB storage device will be permanently deleted during the process.
Removing ev erything and reinstalling W indow s Restoring your PC to its original factory settings can be done using the Remove everything and reinstall option in PC Settings. Refer to the steps below to use this option. IMPORTANT! Back up all your data befor e using this option.
