30 Sending Faxes T o select the resolution Select the desired resolution according to the type of document. — ST ANDARD : For printed or typewritten originals with normal-sized characters. — FINE : For originals with small printing. — SUPER FINE : For originals with very small printing.
31 Sending Faxes 1 Open the document cover . 2 Place the document F ACE DOWN on the scanner glass, matching the top edge of the document to the “TOP” mark on the unit. 3 Close the document cover . ● If the original is a thick book, do not close the document cover .

43 Receiving Faxes Receiving a voice message and fax document in one call The caller can leave a voice message and send a fax document during the same call. Inform the caller of the following procedure beforehand: 1. The caller calls your fax machine.
44 Distinctive Ring Important: ● When you have a single telephone line and subscribe to a telephone company’ s voice mail service, you must also subscribe to the Distinctive Ring Service if you want to receive faxes automatically as well as voice messages.
