4 Overview This unit is a new-gener ation multi-f ormat HD camera that suppor ts the 1080i format. It uses a ne w-gener ation 2/3-inch 2.2-megapixel IT -CCD [1920 (H) 1080 (V)] imaging de vice.
5 Precautions f or use DON’TS Do not attempt to disassemble the camer a or other units. In order to pre vent electric shock, do not remo v e screws or cov ers. There are no user-ser viceable par ts inside. Do not abuse the camer a. Av oid striking, shaking, etc.

8 Contr ols and their functions Lens mount (Bay onet type) This is where the lens is mounted. Lens clamp lever The lens is inser ted into the lens mount , and this lev er is then turned to clamp the lens in place. Lens cable, mic cab le clamps These are used to clamp the lens cable and mic cab le in place.
9 Contr ols and their functions Back tally LED selector s witch This is used to set the back tally LED to ON or OFF . Back tally LED This lights when the tally signal is supplied. This lights up red when the R tally signal is supplied, green when the G tally signal is supplied, and red when both the R and G tally signals are supplied.
10 Contr ols and their functions Monitor output selector switch [MONI SEL] This is used to select the images (Y , NAM, R, G, B) which are to be output from the monitor output connector . ND filter selector knob This is used to adjust the optical filter manually when LOCAL has been selected as the filter setting.
11 Mounting the lens 1 Raise the lens clamp le ver , and remov e the mount cap . Mount cap Lens clamp le ver 2 Align the guide pin on the lens with the groov e at the top center of the lens mount, and mount the lens. Guide pin Groo ve 3 Lower the lens clamp le ver to clamp the lens in place.
12 Adjusting the lens flange back Adjust the flange back (distance from the surf ace where the lens is mounted to the surf ace where the images are f ormed) if the subject f ails to be precisely focused at both the telephoto and wide-angle settings when z oom operations are to be perf ormed.

16 Mounting the camera on a tripod Use the tripod attachment, av ailable as an optional accessor y , to mount the camera on a tripod. 1 Mount the tripod attachment on the tr ipod. Select the appropriate holes from among the holes on the bottom of tripod attachment depending on where the center of gra vity of the camera and tripod attachment falls .
17 Component system configuration An e xample of the standard system consisting of the Multi-Format Camera (AK-HC3500) and peripheral components is described below and shown on the f ollowing page . The MSU (AK-MSU935) is not required unless a multiple number of camer as are to be controlled.
18 Component system configuration Outline of peripheral components 1 Camera Control Unit (CCU: AK-HCU931) This is the Multi-F ormat Camera’ s camera control unit. It is connected to the Multi-F or mat Camera using an optical fiber cable . It can suppor t HD/SD video input and output by connecting the HD/SD output unit.
