E n Po wered Subw oofer SKW -204 Instruction Manual Thank you for purchasing an Onkyo po wered subwoofer . Please read this manual thoroughly before using the unit. Follo wing the instructions in this manual will enable you to obtain optimum performance and listening enjoyment from your ne w po wered subwoofer .

3 Precautions 1. A C Fuse —The AC fuse inside the unit is not user - serviceable. If you cannot turn on the unit, contact your Onkyo dealer . 2. Care —Occasionally you should dust the unit all ov er with a soft cloth. For stubborn stains, use a soft cloth dampened with a weak solution of mild deter- gent and water .
4 Precautions —Continued Placement • The subwoofer cabinet is made out of wood and is therefore sensitiv e to extreme temperatures and humidity , do not put it in locations subject to direct sunlight or in humid places, such as near an air condi- tioner , humidifier , bathroom, or kitchen.
5 Contr ols FRONT VIEW A Standby/On indicator (ST ANDBY/ON) This indicator lights up when the power switch is set to the ON position. Red: The unit is in Standby mode Green: The unit is in Operational mode If the power is turned on, the SKW -204 automatically enters Operational mode when a signal is input.
6 Connections F or safety considerations, turn of f all other system com- ponents before you connect or disconnect any compo- nent and plug the power cable for the last.
7 Adjustments Crosso ver frequency and output le vel • Adjust the SKW -204 output lev el and crossover fre- quency to suit your listening room and connected speakers. • Be aware that you might set the subw oofer to a high output lev el because superbass-range sound is less audible than other sound ranges.
