7 CONN E CTING TO OTHER DEVICES When conne cting to any oth er device, read its user gu ide for detailed s afety instructions. Do not con nect incompatib le products. EM ERG EN CY CAL LS Ensur e the phone f unction of the dev ice is sw it ch ed on and in s e rvice.
8 This device supports WAP 2.0 protocols (HTTP and SSL) that run on TCP/IP protocols. Some features of this devic e, such as web browsing, e-ma il, push to talk, instan t messaging, and multimedia me ssaging, require network support for th ese technologies.
9 The module PIN is required to access the information in the security module. The module PIN is su pplied with the SI M card if the SIM card has a security module in it. The signing PIN is req uired for the digital signature. The signing PI N is supplied with the SIM card if t h e SIM card has a security m odule in it.
10 1. Ge t st a rted ■ Insert a (U)SIM card and battery Always sw itc h the device o ff and disconnect th e char ger befor e removi ng the battery . This phone u ses BP- 5M batteries. For availability a nd information on using SIM ca rd services, contac t your SIM card ven dor.
11 Close the SIM card holder (7), a n d slide it f or ward to lock it ( 8 ). 3. Replace the battery (9). Re pla ce t h e back cover ( 1 0) and (11 ) . ■ MicroSD card slot Use only compatible microSD cards approved by Nokia for use with this device.

19 ■ Menu In the menu you can access the functions in your ph one. To access t he main menu, press t he m enu key; hereaft er described as " se lect Me n u ". To open an application or a folder, scroll to it, an d pre ss the scr oll ke y. To change t h e menu view, se le ct Menu > Opt io ns > Ch ange Menu view and a view type.

21 When the keypad lock is on, calls may be possible to the of ficial emergency number programmed into your device. ■ Connect a compatible hea dset Do not connect pr oducts that create an output signal as this may cause damage to the dev ice. 34 Service m essages Service messages (network service) are notifications (for e xample, n e ws headlines) t ha t may con t ain a t e xt m e ssage or the address of a browse r se r vice . For availability and s u bscription, contact your se rvice provider.

43 View vide os and images When you are viewing videos or st ill images in the phone mode, you can activat e the video vie w mode. Tur n the l ower part of th e phon e 90 degrees to the left so that the camera le ns is pointing away from you.
44 Edi t videos To edit videos in Gallery and cre at e cust om video clips, s croll to a video clip, and select Opti ons > Video editor > Optio ns > Edit vide o clip . In the video editor you can see two timelines: video clip t imeline and sound clip timeline.

58 10 . Pe r s o n a l i z a t i o n ■ Themes To change t h e look of your phon e display, a ctivate a theme. A theme can include the standby mode wallpaper and powe r saver. You can edit a theme to personalize your phone furth e r. Select Men u > P ersonalis.
59 Ring ing tone —To set the ringing tone for voice calls, choose a ringing tone from the list. Pre ss a ny key to stop the soun d. You ca n also change rin ging ton e s in contacts. See “ Add a ringing tone,” p. 41. Video call tone —Select th e rin ging tone for vide o calls.
60 To change the 3-D effect that is a pplied to the rin gin g tone, select Sound tra je ctor y and the desired ef fe ct. To m odify the effect, se lect Tra jec to ry s pee d , Doppler effect , o r Reverberation . Doppler effect may not be available for all effect s.

62 The security icon does not indicate that the data transmiss ion between the gateway and the cont ent serv er (or pla ce where t he requ ested re s ou r ce i s stored) is secu re. The s ervice provider secures the data tra nsmission between the gat eway and the content server.
