SIM card, battery, charging, memory card Put the pi eces toget her, and get started with your Nokia E75.
5. Close the back cover. Charge the battery Your battery has been precha rged, but the charging levels may vary. 1. Connect the charger to a wall ou tlet. 2. Connect the ch arger to the device. You can use your device while it is charging. 3. When the battery is fully charged, disconnect the charger from the device, then from the w all outlet.
Keep all memory cards out of the reach of small child ren. Check the compatibility of a memory card with its manufacturer or provider. A compatible memory card may be included in the sales package. The memory card may be already inserted in the device.
To switch the device off, press and hold the power key. Keys and parts Keys and parts 1 — Light s ensor 2 — Earpiece 3 — Navi™ key; hereafter referred to as scroll key. Press the scroll key to make a selection, or to scroll left, right, up, or down on the display.

Attach a wrist strap Thread the wrist strap, a nd tighten it. Home screen In the hom e screen, you can quickly access your mo st frequently us ed applications, and v iew at a glance if you have missed calls or new messag es. Whenever you see the icon, scroll right to acce ss a list of available actions.
The type of content that can be transferred depen ds on the model of the device from which you want to transfer content. If that device supports synchronisati on, you can also synchronise data between the devi ces. Your device notifies you if the other device is not compatible.
Use shortcuts to repeat a transfer After a data t ransfer, you can save a shor tcut with the transfer settings to the main view to repeat the same transfer later. To edit the shortcut, select Option s > Shortcut settings . For example, you can cr eate or change the name of the short cut.

Nokia E75 - The basics Welcome When you switch on your de vice for the first time, the Welcome application is displayed. To access the Welcome appl ication later, select Menu > Help > Welcome . Select from the following: • Settings wizard — Configure various settings of your devic e.
To open an application , select the appli cation, that is, scroll to it, and press the scroll key. To switch between the open applications, press and hold the home key, an d select an applicat ion. Leaving applications running in the background increases the demand on battery power and reduces the batt ery life.
An EGPRS packet data co nnection is available (network service). If the icon is , the connection is active. If the icon i s , the connection is on hold. A UMTS packet data connecti on is available (network service). If the icon is , the connection is active.
To insert digits or characters printed a t the top of keys, press and hold the correspond ing key, or press and hold the function key and press the corresponding key. To erase a character, press the backspace key. To erase several characters, press a nd hold the backspace key.
• Naviga te to — Check how to naviga te to the found location. • Open image — Open the found image in Gallery. • Save to gallery — Save the found image to Gallery. • Browse — View the found image in the web browser. • Next res ult — View the next search result.
Options > Mark/Unmark > Mark to select one item or Options > Mark/ Unma rk > Mark all to select all items. Tip: To select almost all items, first selec t Options > Mark/Unmark > Mark all , then select the items you do not want, and Options > Mark/Unmark > Unmark .
Personalisation You can personalis e your device by, for exampl e, adjusting the various tones, background images, and screen savers. Profiles Select Menu > Control panel > Profiles . You can adjust and customis e the ringing tones, alert tones, and other device tones for different events, environments, or caller groups.
Customise profiles Select Menu > Control panel > Profiles . Scroll to a profile, select Options > Personalise and from the following: • Ringing tone — Select a ringing tone from the list, or select Download sounds to open a bookmark folder containing a list of bookmarks for downloading tones using the browser.
Change the display theme Select Menu > Control panel > Themes . To change the theme used in all applications, select General . To change the theme used in the main menu, select Menu view . To change the theme for a particular applicat ion, select the application-specific folder.
To change the 3–D effect that is applied to the ringing tone, select Sound trajectory and the desired effect. To modify the 3–D effect, select from the following: • Trajectory speed — Select the speed at which sound moves from one direction to an other.
New from Nokia Eseries Your new Nokia Eseries dev i ce contains new versions of the Calendar, Con tacts, and E-mail app lications, as well as a new home screen. Key features Your new Nokia E75 helps you mana ge your business and personal information. Some of the key features are highlighted here: Read and reply to your e-mail while on the move.
Encrypt your device or memory card to prevent outsiders from accessing your important information. Home screen In the hom e screen, you can quickly access your mo st frequently us ed features and app lications, an d view at a glance if you have misse d calls or new messages.
One-touch keys With the One-touch key s, you can access applica tions and tasks quickly. Each key has been assigned an application or a task. To change these, s elect Menu > Control panel > Settings and General > Personalisation > One-touch keys .
Calendar Select Menu > Calendar . About Calendar Select Menu > Calendar . With cale ndar, you ca n create and view scheduled events and appointments, and switch between different calendar views. In the month view, calendar entries are marked with a triangle.
2. Enter the names of the re qu ired participants. To add names from your contacts list , enter the firs t few characters, and select from the proposed m atches. To add optional part icipants, select Options > Add optional particip ant . 3. Enter the subject .
Work with contacts Select Menu > Contacts . To create a contact, select Options > New contact , and enter the details of the contact. To copy the details of a contact from the memory card, if available, select Options > Copy > From memory card .
Change Contacts settings Select Menu > Contacts . To change the setting s of the Contacts application, select Options > Settings and from the following: • Contacts to display — Select the memories from where contacts are displayed. • Default saving memory — Select the default memory to save contacts.
• Access files on your co mputer even when your computer is switched off. Just choose which folders and files you want to be available, and Files on Ovi automatically keeps an up-to-da te copy stored in a protected, online storage for access even when your computer is switched off.
Messaging Select Menu > Messaging . In Messaging (ne twork servic e), you can send an d receive text messages, multi media messages, audio messa ges, and e-mail messages. You can also receive web service messages, cell broadcas t messages, and special message s containing data, and sen d service commands.
Organise messages Select Menu > Messaging and My folders . To create a new folder to or ganise your messages, select Options > New folder . To rename a folder, selec t Options > Rename folder . You can only rename folders that you h ave created.
Add attachments Select Menu > Messaging . To write an e-mail message, select your ma ilbox and Options > Create e-mai l . To add an attachment to the e-mail message, select Options > Add attachment . To remove the selected attachment, select Option s > Remove attachme nt .
To stop the search, select Options > Stop search . To start a n ew search, select Options > New se arch . Delete e-mails Select Menu > Messaging and a mailbox. To delete the selected e-mail message, select Options > Delete . The message is placed in the Deleted items folder, if available.
To play a message, press a nd hold the left selection key when you receive a message. To start reading the next messa ge in Inbox, scroll down. To start reading the messa ge again, scroll up. In the beginning of the me ssage, scroll up to hear the previous message.
Check the size limit of e-mail messages with your service provider. If you attempt to send an e-mail message th at exceeds the size limit of the e-mail server, the message is left in the Ou tbox folder, and th e device attempts to resend it periodically.
3. Select a folder and OK to begin copying. To view SIM card messages, open the folder where you copied the messages, and open a message. Receive and reply to multimedia messages Important: Exercise caution when opening messages. Me ssages may conta in malicious software or otherwise be harmful to your device or PC.
To preview the presentation, select Options > Preview . Multimedia presentations may only be viewed in compatible devices that support p resentations. They may appear different in different devices. View presentations To view a presentation, op en the multimedia message from the Inbox folder.
Send service commands You can send a service reque st message (also known a s a USSD command) to your service provid er and request activation for certain netw ork services. Contact your service provider for the service request text. To send a service request message, select Op tions > Service commands .
• Receive report — Select Yes if you want the network to send you delivery reports on your messages (network service). • Message validity — Select how long the message centre resends your message if the first attempt fails (network service).
E-mail account settings Select Menu > Messaging and Options > Settin gs > E-mail . If you try to edit mailbox se ttings but have no t yet set up an e-mail account, the E-mail wizard open s and helps you set up your e-mail accoun t. If you have defined a mailbox, to edit the settings, select the mailbox.
Automatic retrieval settings To define the automatic retrieval settings for a n e-mail account, select the account, select Options > Edit > Automatic retrieval , and define the following settings: • E-mail retrieval — Select Enabled to retrieve new e- mail messages automatically from your remote mailbox, or Only in home netw.
join discussion forums (IM gr oups) with specific topics. Various servi ce providers m ain tain compat ible IM servers that you can log in to after you register to a n IM service. Service providers may differ in their support of features. Before you can use Instant messag ing, you must save the settings to access the service that you want to use.
To return to the conversa tions list without closi ng the conversation, sele ct Back . To close the conversation, select Options > End conversation .
Search for IM groups and users To search for IM groups and users, in the IM community main view, firs t scroll to an it em such as one of your own status items, or to an item within one of your IM contact lists. To search for groups, select Opti ons > New conversation > Search for groups .
• Servers — View a list of all defined IM servers. • Default server — Change the IM server to which you want to connect. • IM login type — To log in automatically when you start IM, sele ct On app. start-up . To add a new server to your list of IM servers, select Servers > Op tions > New server .
Phone To make and receive calls, the device must be switched on, it must have a valid SIM card installed, and you must be located in the service area of a cellular network. To make or receive a net call, your device must be connected to a net call service.
To make a call using the saved contacts, ope n the contacts. Enter the first letters of the name, s croll to the name, and press the call key. To make a call using the log, press the call key to view up to 20 numbers that you last called or attempted to call.
video call recipient. A video call can only be made between two parties. Make a video call Warning: Do not hold the device near your ear when the loudspeaker is in use, because the volume may be extremely loud. To make a video call, enter th e phone number or select the recipient from the contacts list and Options > Call > Video call .
• Ensure that both the sender and recip ient are registered to the UMTS network. If you invite someone to a sharing session and t he recipient’s device is not within UMTS network coverage, does not h ave video sharing installed, or person -to-person connections set up, the recipient does no t receive invitations.
invitation. Your device sends the in vitation to the SIP address. Sharing begins automatica lly when the recipient accepts the invitation. Options during video sharing Zoom the video (available for sender only). Adjust the brightness (available for sender only).
To make or receive an intern et call, you must be in the service area of a wireless LAN, and connected to an internet call service. Activate internet calls Select Menu > Contacts .
Internet call settings Select Menu > Contacts . Scroll left, and select the internet calls serv ice from the list. To view or edit internet call settings, select Opti ons > Settings and from the following: • Service connectivity — Select the destination settings for internet call connectivity, and edit destination detail s.
To divert calls to another ph one number, select a call type, a diverting option, and Op tions > Activate > To other number . Enter the number, or select Find to retrieve a number saved in Contacts. To check the current diverting status, scroll to the divertin g option, and select Options > Ch eck status .
3. Enter the DTMF tone sequence, or select a predefined sequence. Attach a DTMF tone sequence to a contact card 1. Select Menu > Contacts . Select a contact and Options > Edit > Options > Add de tail > DTMF . 2. Enter the tone sequence.
Note: Using voice tags may be difficult in a noisy environment or during an emergency, so you should not rely solely upon voice dia lling in all circumstances. To listen to a voice tag, select a contact an d Options > Play voic e tag . 1. To make a call using a voice command, press a nd hold the mute key.
About push to talk Push to talk (PTT) (network se rvice) is a real-time voice- over-IP service that uses a GSM or GPRS network. PTT provides direct voice communi cation, with the push of a key. Use PTT to have a conv ersation with one person or with a group of people.
Press and hold the PTT key the entire time you are talking. When you have finished, release the key. To talk to a contact, press and hold the PTT key also i n other views in the PTT application, for example, the Contacts view. To make a new phone call, fi rst end the one-to-one call.
To make a call, select Options > PTT contacts > Netw. grps./ channels , open the PTT groups tab, se lect a group, and press the PTT key. Create a channel group To create a new configured network group or channel, select Options > Create new , PTT network group , or PTT channel .
To make a one-to-one call from the PTT log, select a contact, and press the PTT key. PTT settings To change yo ur PTT user sett ings, select Options > Settings and from the following: • Incoming calls — Select whether to allow or block PTT calls.
Tip: Subevent s, such as sending a te xt message in more than one part or opening a packet data connection, are logged as one communication event. Connections to your mailbox, multimedia messaging centre , or web pages are shown as packet data connections.
Internet With your Nokia E75, y ou can browse both the internet and your company 's intranet, an d download and install new applications to your device.
To save the current web page a s a bookmark, select Options > Save as bookmark . To view snapshot s of the web pages y ou have visited during the current browsing session , select Bac k (available if History list is turned on in the browser settings and the current web page is not the fi rst web page you visit ).
When you are browsing a web page that contains a large amount of information , you can also us e Page overview to view what kind of info rmation the p age contains . To show the page overview of the current page, press 8 . To find the desired sp ot on the page, scroll up, down, left, or right.
Important: Only install and use applications and other software from trusted so urces, su ch as applicat ions that are Symbian Signed or ha ve passed the Java Verified testing. To download an ite m: 1. Select the link. 2. Select the appropriate option to purchase the item (for example, Buy ).
End the conn ection To end the connection and vi ew the browser page offline, select Options > Tools > Disconnect ; or to end the connection and close the browser, select Option s > Exit . To take the browser to the background, press the end key once.

To search for an item, select Option s > Search . To adjust the settings, select Optio ns > Applic ations > Settings . To view a list of downloaded items, s elect Options > My items . Subscriptions Select Menu > Download! and Options > My items > My subscriptions .
3. Accept the installation in your PC. Accept als o the connection, if prompted. When the connection to the web is established, the web browser of your PC opens. You must have adminis trator rights to you r PC, and the autorun option enabled in the PC.
Travelling Need directions? Looking for a restaurant? Your device has the tools to get you where you want to be. Positioning (GPS) You can use applications such a s GPS data to determine your location, or measure dista nces and coordinates. These applications require a GPS connection.
To disable the A-GPS service, select Menu > Applications > GPS > GPS data and Options > Positioning se ttings > Positioning methods > Assisted GPS > Disable . You must have an internet access point defined in the device to retriev e assistance data from the N okia A- GPS service over a packet data co nnection.
Position requests You may receive a request from a network service to receive your position information. Service providers may offer information about local topics, such as weather or traffic conditions, based on the location of your dev ice. When you receive a position request, the service that is making the request is displayed.
Start the route guidance outdoor s. If started indoors, the GPS receiver may not receive the necessary information from the satellites. Route guidance uses a rota ting compass on the device display. A red ball shows the direction to the destination, and the approximate distance t o it is shown inside the compass ring.

Find locations Select Menu > Applications > GP S > Maps . To find a location in the city or area display ed on the map, enter the full or partial address of the location in the search field, and press the scroll key.
Save and send locations To save a location to your device, press the scroll key, and select Add > Add t o My places . The location is saved in Favourites > My places . To send a lo cation to a co mpatible device, press the scroll key, a nd select Send .

The real-time traffic information service provides information about traffic events that may affect your travel. The traffic information service is an extra service that you can purchase and download in to your device, if available in your country or region.
To select the language of the vo ice guidance, select Voice guidance . You may need to download the voice files before you can select the language. To define the backlight setting, select Backlight . To select how often the information about traffic events is updated, select Traffic info update .
To install Nokia Map Loader to a compatible PC or Mac, go to http://maps.nokia.com, a nd follow the instructions on the screen. Shortcuts To change the map type, press 1 . To return to your cu rrent location, press 0 . To adjust the map for car na vigation during daytime or night-time, press 3 .
Nokia Office Tools Nokia Office Tools su pport mobile business and enable effective communication with work teams. Active notes Select Menu > Office > Active note s . Active notes allows you to create, edit, and v iew different kinds of notes, for example, meeting memos , hobby notes, or shopping lists .
This calculator has limited a ccuracy and is designed for simple calculations. To make a calculati on, enter the first number of the calculation. Select a function su ch as add or subt ract from the function map. Enter th e second number of the calculation, and select = .
Back up files to a memory card Select Menu > Office > File mgr. . To back up files to a memory card, select the file types you want to back up, and Options > Back up phone memory . Ensure that your memo ry card has enough free memory for the files that you have chosen to back up.
Before you can make currency conversions, you must choose a base currency and ad d exchange ra tes. The rate of the base currency is al ways 1. The base cur rency determines the conversion ra tes of the other currencies. 1. To set the exchange ra te fo r the unit of currency, scroll to the type field, and select Options > Currency rates .

Dictionary Select Menu > Office > Dictionary . To translate words from one language t o another, enter text in the search field. As you enter text, suggesti ons of words to translate are displayed. To translate a word, select the word from the list.
When the name of the keyb oard appears, its status changes t o Keyboard connected , and the indicator of your keyboard blinks slowly; the keyboard is ready for use.
Media Your device contains a variety of m edia applications for both business and leisure time use. Camera Select Menu > Applications > Media > Ca mera . Capture an image Your device supports an image capture resoluti on of up to 2048 x 1536 pixels.
Scenes A scene helps you to find the righ t colour and lightin g settings for the current enviro nment. The settings of each scene have been set according to a certain style or environment. To change the scene, select Scene modes in t he toolbar. To make your own scene, scroll to User defined, and select Options > Change .
• Send — Send the video clip to other compatible device s. • Send to caller — Send the video clip to the caller during an active call. • Post to — Send the video to an online album (network service). • Delete — Delete the clip. To enter a new name for the clip, select Options > Rename video .
Gallery Select Menu > Gallery . Use Gallery to access different types of media, including images, music, and video an d sound clips. All viewed images and videos, and receiv ed music and sound clips are automatica lly saved to Gallery.
To add the image to a contact, se lect Options > Use image > Assign to contact . The Contacts application opens, and y ou can select the contact for the image. Share online Share online Select Menu > Applicatio ns > Media > Share online .
To add an image, video clip, or sound clip to the post, select Options > Insert . To add a title or description to the post, enter text directly to the fields, if available. To add tags to the post, se lect Tags: . To select whether to enable the posting of location information contained in the file, select Lo catio n: .
To view the content of a serv ice, select the service and Options > Open . To open a feed, select the feed. To open the feed in the browser, select Opti ons and the service provider's website. To view comments related to a file, select the file and Options > View comment s .
To check the amou nt of data you ha ve uploaded and downloaded, select Optio ns > Settings > Data transferred . To reset the counte rs, select Opt ions > Clear sent , Clear received , or Clear all .
• Open link in browser — Open a link in the web browse r. Schedule downloads Setting the application to download video clips automatically may involve th e transmission of large amounts of data through your service provider's network. For information about da ta transmission charges , contact your service provider.
1. To view your device on a PC as a mass memory device where you can transfer an y data files, make the connection with a US B data cable. 2. Sele ct Mass storage as the connection mode. A compatible memory card need s to be inserted in the device. 3.
To play the download ed episode, select Play . To update the selected podcas t or marked podcasts, for a new episode, select Option s > Update . To open the web site of the podc ast (network service), select Options > Open web page . Some podcasts provide the op p ortunity to interact with the creators by commenting and voting.
Music player Warning: Listen to music at a moderate level. Continuous exposure to high volume may damage your hearing. Do not hold the device near your ear when the loudspeaker is in use, because the volume may be extremely loud. Select Menu > Applicatio ns > Media > Music play er .
To purchase music, you first need to register for the service. To access the Nokia Music Store, you mus t have a valid internet access point defined in the device. Nokia Music Store is not available for all countries or regions. To find more music in the different categories, select Options > Find in Nokia Music st ore .
Media Player. If no playlists have been selec ted, the whole PC music library is selected for synchronisation. If there is not enough free memory in your device, Windows Media Player selects manual s ynchronisation automa tically. To stop automatic synchronisati on, click the Sync tab, and select Stop Sync to 'Nok ia Handset' .
To stop the playback or streaming, select Stop . Buffering or the connection to the streaming site stops, the playback of the clip stops, and the clip rewinds to the beginning. To view the video clip in full-screen mode, select Options > Play in full screen .
To organise your flash files, select Options > Organise . FM radio The FM radio depends on an antenna other than the wireless device antenna. A compatible headset or accessory needs to be attached to the device for the FM radio to function properly.
FM radio settings Select Menu > Applications > Media > Radio > FM radio . To automatically search for alterna tive frequencies if the reception is weak, select Options > Settings > Alternative frequencies > Auto scan on . To select the region wher e you currently are, select Options > Settings > Current region .
If you are listening to a stat ion saved in your favourites, scroll left or right to listen to the previous or next saved station. Favourite stations Select Menu > Applicatio ns > Media > Radio > Internet radio . To view and list en to your favour ite stations, select Favourites .
To select the default access point to connect to the network, select Default access point and from the available options. If y ou want the device t o ask you to select the access point ev ery t ime you open the application, select Always ask .
