■ NFC detection To activate or deactivate NFC, select Menu > NFC > NFC on/off . To use NFC, switch on your device and activate the NFC setting, if deactivated. Touch a service tag or other NFC device with the detection area. The reading range is typically 0 to 3 centimetres.

5. Messaging ■ Write and send a text message 1. Select Menu > Messaging > Create message > Message . 2. Enter one or more phone numbers in the To: field. To retrieve a phone number from Contacts, select Add . 3. Write your message in the text field.
■ Nokia Xpress audio messaging You can use the multimedia messaging se rvice (MMS), a networ k service, to create and send an audio message. MMS must be activated before you can send audio messages. Contac t your service provider for more information.
Write and se nd e-mail You can either write an e-mail message be fore connecting to the e-mail service or connect to the service first, then write and send your e-mail. 1. Select Menu > Messaging > Create message > E-mai l . If more than one e-mail account is defined, select the account fro m which you want to send the e-mail.
■ V oice messages To call your voice mail box, select Menu > Messaging > V oice messages > Listen to voice msgs. To enter, sear ch for, or edit your voice mailbox number, select V o ice mailbox no. The voice mailbox is a network service, an d you may need to subscribe to it.
Font size — Select the font size used in messages. Graphical smileys — Replace character-based sm ileys with graphical ones. Text messages Select Menu > Messaging > M essage settings > Text messages and from the following: Delivery reports — Request delivery reports for yo ur mess ages (network service).
Allow MMS receptn. — Receive or block multimedia messages. If you select In home network , you can only receive multime dia messages when you are inside your home network. The availabilit y of this menu depends on your phone. Incoming MMS msgs. — Decide how multimedia messages are retrieved.
■ Save names and phone numbers Select Menu > Contacts > Names > Options > Add new contact . Names and numbers are saved in the phone memory. ■ Add contact details Search for the contact to which yo u want to add a detail. Select Details > Options > Add detail .
■ Business cards You can send and receive a person’s cont act information from a compatib le device that supports the vCard standard as a business card. To send a business card, se arch for th e contact whose information you want to send, and select Details > Options > Send business card .
■ Themes Select Menu > Settings > Themes and from the following: Select theme — Open the Themes folder, and select a theme. Theme downloads — Open a list of links to download more themes. ■ To nes Select Menu > Settings > To n es to change the tone settings of the selected profile.
■ Date and time Select Menu > Settings > Date and time > Date & time settings , Date and time format , or Auto-update of time (network service) to change the time, time zone, and date settings. ■ My shortcuts Personal shortcuts give you quick access to frequently used phone functions.
■ Connectivity You can connect your phone to a compat ible device using Bluetooth wireless technology or a USB data cable. Bluetooth wireless technology Bluetooth technology allows you to connect your phone to a compatible Bluetooth device within a 10 metres (33 feet) range.
If you do not see the device on the list, select New to list Bluetooth devices in range. Hide your Bluetooth device from others Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Bluetooth > My phone's visibility . Select Hidden , or deactivate Bluetooth.
PC Suite — Use the data cable for Nokia PC Suite. Printing & Media — Use your phone with a PictBridge compatible printer, or to connect your phone to a compatible PC. Data storage — Connect to a PC that does not have Nokia software and use your phone for data storage.
■ Phone Select Menu > Settings > Phone and fro m the following: Language settings — Set the language of your phone, select Phone language . Automatic selects the language according to the information on the SIM card. To select th e USIM ca rd language, select SIM language .
Preferred access pt. — View the saved access points. Scroll to an access point, and select Options > Details to view the name of the serv ice provider, data bearer, and packet data access poin t or GSM dial-up number. Connect to support — Download the configuration settings from your service provider.
■ Digital rights management Content owners may use different types of di gital rights management (DRM) technologies to protect their intellectual prope rty, including copyrights. This device uses various types of DRM software to access DRM- protected content.
11 . M e d i a Capture images or record video clips wi th the built-in 2.0-megapixel camera. ■ Camera The camera produces images in JPG format, and can digitally zoom up to eight times. Your device supports a maximum image ca pture resolution of 1200x1600 pixels.
■ Music player Your phone includes a music player for lis tening to songs, recordings, or other MP3, MPEG4, AAC, eAAC+ or WMA musi c files that you have downloaded from the web or transferred to the phone with Nokia PC Suite. To open the music player, select Menu > Media > Music player .
Radio The FM radio depends on an antenna other than the wireless device antenna. You need a compatible headset to listen to the FM radio. Warning: Listen to music at a moderate level.
Record sound 1. Select , or, during a call, select Options > Record . While recording a call, all parties to the cal l hear a faint b eeping sound. To pause the recordin g, select . 2. To end the rec ording, select . The recording is saved in Recordings in Gal lery.
Stop the alarm The alarm sounds an alert tone even if the phone is switched off. To stop the alarm, select Stop . If you allow the alarm to sound for a minute or select Snooze , the alarm stops for the time period def ined in Snooze time-out, then resumes.
■ Notes Select Menu > Organiser > Notes to write and send not es. T o m a k e a n o t e i f n o note i s added, select Add ; otherwise, select Options > Make a note . Write the note, and select Save . To share a note using NFC, select Share .
View times or Delete times — View or delete the saved times. To set the stopwatch timing in the background, press the end key. Select Continue to view the timing that you have set in the background. 14. Applications ■ Launch a game or application Select Menu > Applications > Games or Collection .
You may receive the configuration sett ings required for browsing as a configuration message from the service pr ovider that offers the service that you want to use. 3. Select Account and a browsing service account contained in the active configuration settings.
While browsing, select Options > Other options > Security > Cookie settings ; or in the standby mode, select Men u > We b > S ettings > Security sett ings > Cookies . To allow or prevent the phone from receiving cookies, select Allow or Reject .

18. Battery and charger information Your device is powered by a recharg eable battery. The battery intende d for use with this device is BL-4U. Nokia may make additional ba ttery models available for this device. This device is intended for use when supplied wi th power from the following chargers: AC-8.
