23 W415-0153 / B / 06.10.10 4.2.4 VERTICAL AIR TERMINAL INST ALLA TION A. Fasten the roof support to the roof using the screws provided. The roof support is optional. In this case the venting is to be adequately supported using either an alternate method suitable to the authority having jurisdiction or the optional roof support.

32 W415-0153 / B / 06.10.10 6.0 OPERA TION MODEL GS28 ONL Y : SPILL SWITCH This is a thermally activated switch, attached to the back of the chimney adaptor , which senses the change in temperature and shuts down the gas valve in the event of a blocked or disconnected vent.
33 W415-0153 / B / 06.10.10 6.1 OPERA TING/LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS The on-off switch is located on the back of the unit at the top left corner on models GDS28 and GS28. When lit for the fi rst time, the appliance will emit a slight odour for a few hours.
34 W415-0153 / B / 06.10.10 7.0 ADJUSTMENT 7.1 PILO T B URNER ADJUSTMENT Adjust the pilot screw to provide properly sized fl ame. T urn in a clockwise direction to reduce the gas fl ow . Inlet pressure can be checked by turning screw (A) counter- clockwise until loosened and then placing pressure gauge tubing over the test point.
35 W415-0153 / B / 06.10.10 7.3 FLAME CHARACTERISTICS It’s important to periodically perform a visual check of the pilot and burner fl ames. Compare them to the illustra- tions provided.
36 W415-0153 / B / 06.10.10 8.0 MAINTENANCE CAUTION: Label all wires prior to disconnection when servicing controls. Wiring errors can cause improper and dangerous operation. V erify proper operation after servicing. This appliance and its venting system should be inspected before use and at least annually by a quali fi ed service person.
