7 2. Installation 2.1. Before You Begin Remove the I F-200 from the box carefully and remove all packing material. Verify that y ou have the fo llowing items: • I F-200 product • AC adapter • Telephone line cord • Category 5 patch cable • I nstallation Guide and Oper ation Guide 2.
IF-200 from Mur atec 8 2. Plug one end of the telephone line cord that came with the I F-200 into the “telco” or “line” jack on th e fax machine.
9 3. Quick Start 3.1. Front Panel Controls Before y ou beg in using the I F-200, y ou must enter some information using the control key s and the key board. The front panel of the I F-200 contains a control panel, a four-line Liquid Cry stal Display (LCD), and a computer-sty le key board.
IF-200 from Mur atec 10 3.2. Initial Setup Step 1: Refer to the I F-200 Worksheet in Appendix A of this guide for the required information . Complete the Worksheet under "Setting s for y our ISP/Mailbox.” Your network sy stem administrator can provide the data required to complete the worksheet.

Entering Your ISP and Mailbox Information Once y ou have completed the Initial Setup and received the L AN information from y our LAN administrator, the I F-200 asks y ou to input the LAN information in a series of screens. Use the key board to enter the information and press OK to move to the nex t screen.
IF-200 from Mur atec 12 Enter the I P Address of gateway server from the Worksheet and press OK. The I F-200 is capable of determining its own I P address (if supported by y our LAN) using DHCP, RARP, an Auto Assign method or a Static I P (manual input from the key pad).
3. Quick Start 13 Enter the telephone number of the phone line to be attached to the I F-200. I f y ou would like verification that y our IF- 200 is configured correctly , press YES and the I F-200 will print a completed worksheet. Otherwise, press NO to see t he Main screen.
IF-200 from Mur atec 14 entry a three- or four-digit number (you may change this number; see Editing a Phone Book Entry ). From the Main screen, press the Phone Book softkey . The Phone Book screen display s a list of current phone book entries and offers four options: add, edit, sort and escape.

Quick Start 15 • Direct #: The fax number to be used if the IF-200 is unable to send over an I P network or the I nternet. • Pre-connect Suffix: Numbers to be dialed after the Direct # but before connecting . Useful for ca lling card c alls. • Post-connect Suffix: Numbers to be dialed after connecting to the Direct #.
16 4. Using The IF-200 4.1. Sending a Fax Once Quick Start is complete, y ou have the option of sending a fax as e-mail, via a fax service provider, or over the public switched telephone network.
4. Using The IF-200 17 Dial # # fax telephone number Send , if you want to send to a fax number that is stored in the I F-200, and y ou do not want the document to go to e-mail.
IF-200 from Mur atec 18 • To send a fax via a fax service provider: NOTE: This is only possible for those customers who have an account with a fax service provider. Also, the F ax Service Routing field, located in the Sy stem Settings menu (see Section 6), must be defined.
4. Using The IF-200 19 4.2.3. A u tomatic Routing o f Fax Messages to Email Documents sent from non-I nternet fax machines pass through the IF -200 and print on y our fax machine. I f you would like to have all incoming fax messages routed to email, this can be set up a nd configure d in the Expert Settings, desc ribed later in this g uide.
20 5. Group Phone Book 5.1. A dding, Editing or Deleting a Group The Group Phone Book option allows y ou to group two or more phone book entries together so that y ou can send the same fax to multiple locations at one time. Each group may contain a max imum of 255 e-mail addresses.
5. Group Phone Book 21 A small a appears next to each num ber y ou select. To deselect a number, press the SEL key again. Select all the names y ou want for this group and press OK. The I F-200 display s the Group speed dial number and name. Press ESC until y ou return to the Main scree n.
IF-200 from Mur atec 22 The I F-200 asks if y ou are sure you want to delete the group. Press YES. Press ESC until y ou return to the Main scree n. NOTE: PUBL I C phone book entries (created with the Remote Configuration Software) cannot be edited or deleted using the I F-200’s keypad.
23 6. Updating Information A fter Se tup 6.1. ISP/Mailbox Information This menu allows y ou to edit any of the information y ou entered during the setup process. I n addition, the following settings can be chang ed from their default values (indicated by bold type).
