5 5 5 Ha rdw are Inst all ati on Y our monitor is equipped with an AC adaptor that has a power supply with a volt age range from 100 to 240 V olts AC at a f requency of 50 to 60 Hz. Make sure that your loca l power supply is within the supported range.

7 2. Insert the Diamond View LCD Monitor Utilities f loppy disk into your floppy d isk dr ive. S ele ct t he Flop py disk drive check box and c lick Next . 3. Click Next again and then cl ick Cont inu e . T he drive r and monitor colour prof ile wil l be instal led.

9 7 7 Sett ing the Displ ay Resolu tion Choosing the Best Resolution All L iquid Cryst al Displays (LCDs) have a f ixed resolut ion that is the same as the max imu m resolut ion that may be displayed on the LCD. In the case of the DV158 the LCD resolution is 1024 x 768 pi xels.
10 Supported Graphics Modes and Refr esh Rate Sele ction There is no need to choose the highest possible refresh rate when using an LCD monitor . It is not technical ly possible for an LCD mon itor to fl icker . Even a t a re fresh rate of 60 Hz you will get an absolutely fl icker-f ree i mage.
11 impro ve the displayed image by manual ly adjusting the phase, horizontal position and pi xel frequency settings using the "Geo metry" menu. See Chapter 7, Ad justing t he M onit or , for more detai ls. • When you shut Wi ndows dow n you may see inter ference l ines on your screen.
12 8 8 Adj usting the Mo nitor Picture Optimisation The easiest way to obtain an opti mal picture is by using the Auto button. This only works reliably i f the graphics adaptor is set to use one of the monitor ’ s factory modes (see T able 1 in the pre vious chapter) and if you are displaying an appropriate ful l-screen test pattern.
