User Manual MAP 330/MAP 330M This User Manual provides the instructions for using the Magellan MAP 330 and the Magellan MAP 330M GPS receivers. Any reference to the MAP 330 in this User Manual applies to both receivers. Those areas that apply only to the MAP 330M will be noted.
WARNINGS FOR SAFETY REASONS, THE DRIVER SHOULD NOT USE THIS DEVICE IN A VEHICLE WHILE IN MOTION TO ASSIST THE DRIVER TO NAVIGATE. Please do not try and change any settings on the MAP 330 while driving. Come to a complete stop or have your passenger make any changes.

Magellan MAP 330 GPS Receiver 3 Setting Up the MAP 330 Setting Up the MAP 330 Setting up the MAP 330 is a simple three-step pr ocess: installing the batteries, attaching the wrist strap and initializing the MAP 330. The MAP 330 uses two AA batteries that are installed from the back thr ough the battery cover .

N ote that if you are inputting data, pressing NAV will return you to the last navigation scr een but your inputs will not be saved.
Magellan MAP 330 GPS Receiver 15 Basic Operation Basic Operation A waypoint is a point on a map that you can name and save in the MAP 330. They are primarily used for creating routes. Whether the route is a simple GO T O or a more complex multileg route, it needs stored waypoints to use as its starting and destination point.

Use the arrow keypad to mo ve from one icon to another with the name of the icon displayed at the top. As a refer ence tool, all of the icons and their names are listed in the Refer ence Chapter .

U se the DO WN arrow to highlight Los Angeles. With Los Angeles highlighted, it can be selected as the destination of the GO TO route by pressing ENTER .

27 Magellan MAP 330 GPS Receiver Reference Reference Setting the Map Detail — The detail of the map can be set to highest, high, medium, low or low est. This changes the zoom level that different map objects (cities, highways, labels, etc.) are displayed.
28 Magellan MAP 330 GPS Receiver Refer ence Reference T urning On/Off Display W aypoints — T urns on or off the waypoints on the Map screen. Default is On.
29 Magellan MAP 330 GPS Receiver Reference Reference When N av Info is hidden and the map is in the cursor mode, the bearing (BR G) and distance (DIS) to the cursor is sho wn at the bottom of the map. If the cursor happens to be on a map object, the name of the object is displayed instead of BR G/DIS.
