16 Getting Started Instal ling the SIM Card When you subscri be to a cellular netw ork, you are provided with a plug-in SIM Card loaded with your subscri ption details, such as your PIN, any option al services available and many others.
Getting Started 17 n Note When you need to remove the SIM Card, slide it, as shown, and take it out of the socket. 4. T o insert the battery , align the golden contact s of the battery with the corresp onding connector s on the battery compart ment. Press down on the opposite end of the battery until it snaps into place.

Getting Started 20 T urnin g Y our Phon e On and Off 1. Hold down the [END] key until the phone switch es on. 2. If the phone asks for a PIN, enter the PIN and press the key . The phone search es for your network and after findin g it goes to the idle screen as illustr ated below .
21 General Functions Making a Call 1. Make sure your phone is powered on. Press T ouch Dial Keypad to make a call without sliding out the keypad. 2. Enter a phone number including the area code. T o edit a number on the display screen, simply pres s the key to erase one digit at a time.
General Functions 22 Adjust ing the Vo lume During a call, if you want to adjust the earpiec e volume , use the side keys of the phone. In idle mode, you can adjust the ring volu me using the side keys. Answer ing a Ca ll When you receive a call, the phone rings and the phone icon appea rs on the screen.
General Functions 23 Enteri ng T ext Y ou can enter alphanu meric characters using the phone’ s keypad . For exampl e, storing names in Contact s, writing a message and creatin g schedu ling events in the calendar all require enterin g text. The follo wing text input methods are availab le in the phone: Abc, abc, ABC manual mode and 123 mode.
24 Y our phone offers a set of functions that allow you to customiz e the phone. These functi ons are arrange d in menus and sub-me nus, accessed via the two soft keys marked the left soft key and the right soft key . Each menu and sub-menu allow s you to view and alter the settin gs of a particular func tion.
25 In-Call Menu Y our phone provid es a number of contro l functio ns that you can use during a call. T o access these functi ons during a call, press the left soft key [Optio ns].
