General Information 1-1 4040 Finisher 1. General Inf ormation Maintenance Appr oach The diagnostic inf or mation in this manual leads you to the correct field replaceable unit (FR U) or par t. Use the error code char ts, symptom inde x, and ser vice checks to determine the symptom and repair the f ailure.

If an error message appears while you are w orking on the finisher , go to the error message table and tak e the indicated action.
