13 4 Check Your N etwork Settings 1. Please make sure your PC can get IP addre ss automatically so t he W BR- 6022 can communicate with your PC during configurat ion. • Se lect “Control Pan el” > “Network Connec tions”. • Right click the “Lo cal Area Connect ion” and choose “P roperties”.
14 5 Configurat ion Wizard Once prope rly conf igured, the W BR-6022 HomeGuard 22 Residentia l G ateway will o btain and assign IP add ress information automatically. Con figuration settings can be established t hrough the W eb- Based Co nfiguration Menu , or the Easy Setup Utility on the CD.

16 First, you ha ve to make su re that your ha rdware connect ions are all correct. Then, you have to adjust the t ime zone. This ro uter could m anage the power by tim e scheduling, s o we have to correct its system tim e.
17 Setup t he Power Manageme nt schedule. Smart Schedule means, when t he router should go to slee p mode due to the schedule rule, it would ch eck the network pack et first. If t here are still some network packets be ing transfe rred, the rule wou ld not be execute d immediately un til the network f low is stop.

53 Virtual Server A virtual server is de fined as a Service P ort, and all requests to this port will be red irected to the comput er specifie d by th e Server IP. Virtual Se rver can work with Schedu ling Rules, and give user more f lexibility on Acc ess con trol.
54 Special A P Some app lications require multiple connec tions, like Inte rnet games, Video conferencing, Inte rnet telephon y, etc. Because of the firewall funct ion, these applicat ions cannot work with the WBR-6 022. The S pecial Applications fe ature allows some of these applicat ions to work with th is product.
55 Miscellaneous Items IP A dd ress of DMZ Host Here you can set the DMZ (Demilitarized Zon e) Host. It i s a computer that d o es not have the W BR-6022’s built-in f irewall applied. It allows th e compute r to b e e xposed to unrestricted communica tion to the Inte rnet.
56 Securit y Setting s This section allows yo u to conf igure the security m ana gement of the unit. Click on the m enu on the left to a ccess the respective se tting page .
57 Packet Filter Packet Filte rs allows you to control what pa ckets are allowed to pa ss through the W BR-6022. Th e Outbound Filte r applies t o all outbound packets and t he I nbound Filter only a pplies to packets that are de stined to Virtual Se rvers or the DMZ Host only.
58 For sou rce o r d estination IP address , you can defin e a single IP address (192.168.0. 1) o r a range of IP addre sses (192.168.0.100 – 192.168.0.200). A n empty imp lies all IP addre sses. For sou rce or destin ation port, you can def ine a single p ort (80) o r a range of p orts (1000-19 99).
59 Domain Filter The Dom ain Filte r e nables you to prevent u sers from accessing sp ecific domain addresses (web sites). To enab le Domain Filter, mak e sure to tick t he Enable tick box. • Log DNS Query : Check if you want to log the action when someone acce sses the specific URLs.
60 URL Blocking URL Blockin g will block LAN computers from connectin g to a pre-defined W eb Site. The major differen ce between Domain Filte r and URL Blocking is th at Domain Filter re quires the user to in put suffixes (eg: x xx.com, ttt.n et) while URL Blockin g only requires us er to input a keyword.
61 MAC Address Control The Dom ain Filte r e nables you to prevent u sers from accessing sp ecific domain addresses (web sites). To enab le MAC Address Cont rol, make sure to t ick on Enable. There a re two types of con trols available : • Connection Control: To co ntrol which wired a nd wireless clie nts can co nnect to this devic e.

67 QoS Rule Here you ca n set the paramet ers for QoS (Quality of Service). T his function a llows you to specify which types o f data packets are given priority. Fo r example you can increase the p riority of Voice Over IP or gaming pa ckets so that they are handled first by W BR-6022.
68 SNMP Setting SNMP (Simple Network Man agement Protocol) is designed to giv e users the ability to remotely manage a computer or net work device. To enab le SNMP, please se t the following: • Enable SNMP: You mu st check eithe r Local or Remote or both to enab le SNMP function.
69 Routing W hen you have more than one W BR-6022 , or route r with diff erent sub nets o n the network, you will need to e nable this function to allow the diff erent subnets to communicate with each other. There a re two types of rout ing supported b y the W BR-6022.
