1 1. Network Scanner Outline By installing the printer/sc anner controller, the machine can be used as a net- work scanner . The network scanner offers three functions: operation as a network TWAIN scanner, network de livery scanne r, or storing s c an data in the Docume nt Server.
Network Scanner 2 1 Network De livery Scanner The machine is used as the deliv ery scanner with Sc anRouter V2 Lite/ Profes- sional. The or iginals scanne d by the machine is sto red in the del ivery server and delivered to the fold er of the computer on the same network.

33 3. Setting Originals This chapter explains the procedure f o r placing the original on the e x posure glass and in the automatic doc ument feeder (ADF), an d setting origi n al scan area and orientation acc ording to the placement method.
Setting Originals 34 3 Placing the Original on the Exposure Glass Originals which do not fit into the ADF, such as sh eets wi th glued-on parts, books, etc., can be placed di- rectly on the ex posure glass for scan- ning. Note ❒ For information about the origi- nals which can be pl aced on th e ex- posure glass, s ee the Copy Reference manual.
Placing the Original in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) 35 3 Placing the Original in the Automatic Document Fe eder (ADF) The ADF allows you to insert se veral originals at one time. Originals placed in the ADF can be scanned on one side or both sides.

65 7. Appendix The Relationship between the Resolution and the Data Size The relati onship b etween the resolution and the data size is mutua lly contra dictory. When the resolutio n (dpi) is set to a high valu e, the sca nning area beco mes smaller. Inverse ly, when the sca nning ar ea is se t larger , the re soluti on becomes l ower.
Appendix 66 7 Troubleshooting This section contains advice on wha t to do if you have probl ems scanning an original or if the n etwork delivery scanner func tion does n ot work.
