4 QUICK SET-UP GUIDE Hint: Use good quality Alkaline Batteries and avoid rechargeable batteries. 1. Have the indoor weather station, rem ote tem perature/humi dity sensor and wind speed sensor 3 to 5 feet apart . 2. Insert the telephone plug (RJ-11) from the wind speed sensor into the receptacle on the remote tem perature/humidity sensor.
5 DETAILED SET-UP GUIDE BATTERY INSTALLATION The first step to powerin g up the weather station is to insert th e connector (RJ11) at the end of the wire attached to the wind speed sensor to the remote temperature/humidity se nsor. Please ensure when doing this that the connector is inse rted with the proper orientation.
6 PROGRAM MODE Programming Note: If 30 seconds are allowed to pass, or the WIND/SNZ button is pressed during the program mi ng mode, the unit will confirm/set the last information en tered—the display will stop flashin g and return to normal time-date readings.
7 3. Press and release the ALM/+ button to select the le vel you desire. 4. Press and release the SET button to con f irm and ad vance to the Time Zone setting. IV. TIME ZONE SETTING 1. Press and hold the SET button for 5 seconds. 2. “LCD” will show in th e TIME LCD and the number setting will flash .
8 VII. 12 OR 24 HOUR TIME SETTING 1. Press and hold the SET button for 5 seconds. 2. “LCD” will show in th e TIME LCD and the number setting will flash . 3. Press and release the SET button four tim es. 4. “12h” or “24h” will flash in the DATE LCD.
9 IX. SETTING THE YEAR, DAY AND MONTH Note: Reception of the WWVB signal will al so set the date and day. The recep tion of the signal will override any programm ed date and day. 1. Press and hold the SET button for 5 seconds. 2. “LCD” will show in th e TIME LCD and the number setting will flash .
10 XII. SETTING THE FORECAST SENSITIVITY Note: The forecast sensitivity can be adjusted to allo w for areas that have a higher or low er sensitivity to changing air pr essure (for example coastal areas have more pressure change than ar eas such as southern Arizona).
11 I. WEATHER FORECAST The weather forecasting feature is estimated to be 75% accurate and is for the next 12 to 24 hours. The weather forecast is based solely upon the change of air pressure over tim e.

Press and release the IN/HR button again (once w hile “MAX” is still displayed, twice oth erwise). “MIN” appears to the right of the indoor tem perature, indicati ng that the mini mum t emperature (along with the humidity measured at that tim e) and the time and date of occurrence are displayed.
13 V. MOON PHASE There are 12 moon phases shown on the indoor weather st ation; the black port ion signifies the porti on of the moon visibl e in the sky. Thus, when the moon i con is all black, i t is a full m oon. VI. VIEWING THE CURRENT, MAXIMUM AND MINUMUM DEW POINT To view the current dew p oint: 1.
14 To view the current wind chill: 1. Press and release the WIND/SNZ button. 2. The wind chill v alu e will display at the bottom of th e WIND SPEED LCD. To view the maximum and minimum wind/wind chill values: 1. Press and hold the WIND/SNZ button for 3 seconds.

17 Note: Before permanently mounting ensure that the indoor weather station is able to receive WWVB signals from the desired location. Also, extreme and sudde n changes in temperature w ill decrease the accuracy of th e indoor weather station, and changes in elevation will result with inaccurate weather forecasting for the ne xt 12 to 24 hours.
18 II. THE REMOTE WIND SPEED SENSOR The remote wind speed sensor can be m ounted two ways: • With the use o f screws • Using nylon straps A. MOUNTING WITH SCREWS 1) Unlock the mounti ng bracket from the rem ote wind speed sensor leaving t he wire going through the bracket.
19 TROUBLESHOOTING NOTE: For problems not solved, please cont act La Crosse Technology. Problem: No reception of WWVB time signal. Solution: 1) Wait overnight for signal. 2) Be sure indoor weather station is at least 6 feet from any electrical devices, such as t elevisions, com puters, or other radi o- controlled clocks.
