User Guide 9 1 Get Started Phone Battery Install the Battery 1. W ith the bac k of the phone facing you, press on the back cover and slide it to the bottom of the phone. 2. Lift the back cover from the bottom to remove. 3. Place the battery in the battery casing.
10 Phone Battery Battery Safety Guidelines • Do not disassemble or open the battery . • Do not crush, bend, deform, puncture, or shred the battery . • Do not attempt to insert foreign objects into the battery . • Do not immerse the battery or expose it to water or other liquids.

User Guide 15 Guide Conventions In this guide, the following conventions are used when describing phone features. Select means to press the Left softke y , Right softkey or OK key to select an item seen on the display . For example, “Select Menu ” tells you to physically pres s the left softkey to choose Menu from the display .
16 Power Phone Up 2 Call Features This section describes the basic fea tures related to calls. Power Phone Up • T o turn your phone on, press the End key and wait until the phone display lights up. • T o turn your phone off, press and hold the End key until the phon e plays a short musical sound and turns off.

20 Text Entry Modes Rapid Entry with QWERTY Keypad When you press a series of keys using Rapid entry , your phone checks its dictionary and guesses at the word you are trying to spell. From a text entry field, select Options > Rapid Entry to speed up word co mpletion.

24 Use Contacts Add a Code or Extension When saving the phone number of an automated service, you may include a pause for dialing an extensio n. 1. From the home screen, enter a phone number . 2. Select Options and a type of pause: – Tim e P au s e causes the phone to stop dialing for two seconds.

Press down twice to scroll to the n umber type dropdown and pr ess the OK key . 4. Select a number type. The appropria te icon appears next to the n umber in your contacts list.
26 Erase Contacts Add Contacts to Groups 1. From Vi e w A l l , select a contact. 2. At the contact details screen, highlight a number or email address. 3. Select Options > Add to Group . 4. Select groups from the list provided. A checkmark appears next to each selection.
User Guide 27 Create a New Group 1. From Groups , select New . 2. Enter a name for the group and select Next . 3. Select contacts from t he list provided. A checkmark appears next to each selection. Y o u can also remov e checkmarks. 4. When finished, select Done .
28 Speed Dial List Erase a Group 1. From Groups , highlight a group. 2. Select Options > Erase > Y es . Erase All Groups From Erase Contacts , select Groups Only > Ye s > Ye s to erase all your groups. Note: Y ou cannot recover deleted information or erase preloaded groups.

This list contains all calls you received, but did not answer . Manage a Missed Call Alert When you have missed a call, “Missed Call” appears on your screen.
User Guide 31 Work with Call T imers View All Calls Timer Select Life Tim e r to view the number of calls and the total call t ime. Select Done when finished. This timer tracks all calls made and received for life of the phone and cannot be reset. View Recent Calls T imer Select Recent Calls to view th e nu m ber of calls and the total call time.
32 Launch Browser 6 Browser Y o u can use your phon e to browse the Internet if you have obtained phone Internet services from your service provider and if over-the-air Internet access is available in your area. Launch Browser Select Browser to launch the browser .

36 Media File Options Send a File 1. From a media file list, highlight a file. 2. Select Options > Send > V ia EMS Msg (to attach to an enhanced message), Vi a MMS Ms g (to attach to a multimedia message), V ia Bluetooth (to send to a Bluetooth-enabled device), or To P r i n t e r (to print on a Bluetooth-enabled device).
User Guide 37 View a Slideshow 1. From Camera Pictures , select Options > Slideshow to play the slideshow o f the files contained in the current folder . 2. Select Pause (to stop), Play (to resume), or Options (to access more features). W ith Opti ons selected, your phone automatically pauses the slideshow .
38 Messaging Menu 9 Messaging Use Messaging to send, receive, and erase messa ges from your phone. Messaging Menu Select Messaging from the main menu to access the following functions: Level 1 > Level 2 > Level 3 Messaging New T ext Msg Compose a text message.

From New T ext Msg , enter a recipient’ s phone number or email address. (Select Options to access contacts, groups or recently used addre sses.
40 Send Messages Add Recipients from Contacts 1. At the compose message screen, select Options > Contacts when entering a phone number or email address. 2. Select a contact from the contacts list. 3. Select a number or address. 4. Complete your message.
User Guide 41 Complete Messages in Drafts 1. From Drafts , highlight your desired message. 2. Select Edit or Options > Edit . 3. Complete your message. Use Preset T ext Add Preset T ext 1. At the compose message screen, select Options > Insert QuickT ext when entering the text.
42 Send Messages Add Slides to Messages Use slides in a multimedia message t o send multiple files of the same type, such as pictures or voice memos. A multimedia message may have up to ten slides. 1. At the compose message screen, select Options > Add New Slide when entering the text.
User Guide 43 Request a Message Receipt 1. When entering a me ssage, select Options > Msg Settings > Msg Receipt > Request to request a message delivery notice. 2. Complete your message. Set Message Priority 1. When entering a me ssage, select Options > Msg Settings > Set Priority to set the priority level.
44 Manage Received Messages Set CC and BCC Fields 1. When entering the message, select Opti ons > Msg Settings > CC and BCC to enable or disable the CC and BCC address fields.
User Guide 45 Reply to all Recipients 1. When viewing a received message, select Options > Re ply All to send your reply to all the message recipients. 2. Complete the message and select Send . Reply with a Copy of the Message 1. When viewing a received message, select Options > Re ply with Copy .
46 Manage Voicemail V iew Messages with Multip le Slides When viewing a received message containing multiple slides, use the following options to navigate through the s lides. • Next to view the next slide. • Options > Replay to restart the message from the beginnin g slide.

Set your V oicemail Number Often your service pro vider automatically programs your voicemail number (the num ber your phone calls to retrieve voicemail).
User Guide 51 10 Camera Camera Tips Y o ur phone has a camera. Before using your phone’ s camera, here are some tips: • Y o u cannot activate the camera while on an active call or while browsing files in the media gallery . • Once the camera is active, the home screen acts as the viewfinder .
52 Other Camera Options Enable Date/Time Stamp From camera mode, select Options > Settings > Date/Time > On to place a da te/time stamp on each picture taken. The icon indicates when the d ate/time stamp is on. Enable Multish ot Mode From camera mode, select Options > Settings > Multishot > On to take multiple pictures.

User Guide 61 Backlighting Set Display Duration From Backlighting , select Display Dura tion and one of the following: • Always Di m forces the backlight to remain dim before turning off. • 7 Seconds , 10 Seconds , 15 Seconds , or 30 Seconds turns backlighting on for the set time after your last keypress.
62 Convenience games, use the Scheduler, set the clock, and make emergency calls to designate d emergency numbers. Please check with uniformed personnel before operating your phone in Airplane mode. From Airplane Mode , select Enabled > OK to activate airplane mode.

User Guide 65 Answer Using V oice Answer When you receive an incoming call, the phone prompts “Incoming call, answer?” With the caller recognized as a contact entry in your phone, the phone promp ts “Incoming call from (Name), answer?” Do one of the following: • Say “Y es” or press any key except th e End key to answer the call.
66 Network Connect to Hearing Aid Device W ith a T -coil hearing aid device (sol d separately) connected, you can enable the hearing aid feature. 1. Connect the T -coil hearing aid device to your phone. 2. From T -coil Hearing Aid , select OK > Enabled .
User Guide 67 Set Location Information Use Location to share your location information with networ k services other than emergency services (for example, 911, 1 11, 999 and 000) in serviced areas. This feature works only when your phone is in digital mode.
68 Phone Info Set Limit Calls Y o u can limit the calls that can be made from your phone to emergency numbers, your contacts, and your service provider ’ s numbers. 1. From Security , enter your four-digit lock code. 2. Select Limit Calls and one of t he following: – No Limit does not limit calls.

74 Enable Bluetoot h 15 Bluetooth The Bluetooth® wireless technology (not available on all phones) enables wireless connectivity with accessories such as portable or installed hands-free car kits, phones, handsets, computer s, and so on. For details, check with your service provider .
