English – 5 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Vibration damping system Y our machine is equipped with a vibration damping system that is designed to minimize vibration and mak e operation easier . Use of incorrectly wound cord or an incorrect cutting attachment increases the le vel of vibr ation.
6 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Chec king, maintaining and servicing the machine ′′ ′ ′ s safety equipment Throttle loc k • Make sure the throttle control is loc ked at the idle setting when the throttle lock is released. • Press the throttle lock and mak e sure it retur ns to its original position when you release it.
English – 7 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS • Regularly check that the muffler is securely attached to the machine. • The muffler on y our machine is equipped with a spark arrestor mesh, this should be cleaned regularly . A block ed mesh will cause the engine to ov erheat and may lead to serious damage.
8 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS General safety precautions Starting • The complete clutch cov er and shaft must be fitted before the machine is star ted, otherwise the clutch can come loose and cause personal injur y . • Ne ver start the machine indoors.

Contact your local gas station to find out where to dispose of e xcess fuel. • The transpor t guard must alwa ys be fitted to the cutting attachment when the machine is being transpor ted or in storage.
10 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS • When trimming and clear ing you should use less than full throttle so that the cord lasts longer and to reduce the wear on the trimmer head. Cutting • The trimmer is ideal for cutting gr ass that is difficult to reach using a normal lawn mower .

12 – English ASSEMBL Y Fitting the loop handle • Clip the loop handle onto the shaft. Note that the loop handle must be fitted between the arro ws on the shaft. • Slide the spacer into the slot in the loop handle. • Fit the nut, knob and scre w .
English – 13 ASSEMBL Y • Fit the nut (G). The nut must be tightened to a torque of 35-50 Nm (3.5-5 kpm). Use the sock et spanner in the tool kit. Hold the shaft of the spanner as close to the blade guard as possible . T o tighten the nut, tur n the spanner in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation (Caution! left-hand thread).
14 – English FUEL HANDLING Fuel CA UTION! The machine is equipped with a f our-stroke engine. Make sure that there is alwa ys sufficient oil in the oil tank. Gasoline • Use high-grade unleaded petrol of at least 86 octane . • If the machine is not used f or some time the fuel tank should be emptied and cleaned.
English – 15 ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Chec k bef ore star ting • Check that the support flange is not crack ed due to f atigue or due to being tightened too much. Discard the suppor t flange if it is crac ked. • Ensure the locking n ut has not lost its captive f orce.
16 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Starting Hold the body of the machine on the ground using y our left hand (CA UTION! Not with your f oot!). Grip the star ter handle, slowly pull out the cord with y our right hand until you f eel some resistance (the star ter pawls grip), now quic kly and powerfully pull the cord.
English – 17 MAINTENANCE Carb urettor Function • The carburettor go v erns the engine’s speed via the throttle control. Air and fuel are mixed in the carb urettor. The air/fuel mixture is adjustable . Correct adjustment is essential to get the best perf ormance from the machine.
18 – English MAINTENANCE If the machine is low on po wer , difficult to star t or r uns poorly at idle speed: alwa ys check the spark plug first bef ore taking any further action. If the spark plug is dir ty , clean it and check that the electrode gap is 0,6-0,7 mm.
