GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 14 – English Chec king chain lubrication • Check the chain lubrication each time you refuel. See instructions under the heading Lubricating the bar tip sprock et. Aim the tip of the bar at a light coloured surface about 20 cm (8 inches) a wa y .

ASSEMBL Y 16 – English Fitting the bar and chain Chec k that the chain brak e is in disengaged position by moving the front hand guard tow ards the front handle. Remov e the bar nuts and remove the clutch co ver (chain brake). T ake off the transportation ring (A).
FUEL HANDLING English – 17 Fuel Note! The machine is equipped with a two-stroke engine and must alwa ys be run using a mixture of petrol and two- stroke oil. It is impor tant to accurately measure the amount of oil to be mixed to ensure that the correct mixture is obtained.
FUEL HANDLING 18 – English Extra chain oil Under EXTREME conditions the chain and bar ma y require extr a chain oil. The oil flow should only be increased when the engine is running and the chain rotating. Push the lev er to the r ight, where it will automatically be held in the lock ed position.
FUEL HANDLING English – 19 T ransport and storage • Alwa ys store the chain saw and fuel so that there is no risk of leakages or fumes coming into contact with sparks or naked flames from electrical equipment, electric motors, relays/s witches, boilers and the like .
ST ARTING AND ST OPPING 20 – English Star ting and stopping Cold engine Starting: The chain br ake must be engaged when the chain saw is started. Activate the brake b y moving the front hand guard forw ards. Ignition: Slide the ignition switch to the left.
ST ARTING AND ST OPPING English – 21 Push in the choke control as soon as the engine fires and keep pulling until the engine starts. When the engine star ts, quic kly apply full throttle; the throttle start lock will automatically disengage.
WORKING TECHNIQUES 22 – English Bef ore use: 1 Check that the chain brak e works correctly and is not damaged. 2 Check that the rear right hand guard is not damaged. 3 Check that the throttle loc kout works correctly and is not damaged. 4 Check that the stop s witch works correctly and is not damaged.
WORKING TECHNIQUES English – 23 eff ect of kic kback and lets you k eep the chain saw under control. Do not let go of the handles! 3 Most kickbac k accidents happen dur ing limbing. Make sure you are standing firmly and that there is nothing in the wa y that might make you trip or lose your balance.
WORKING TECHNIQUES 24 – English 9 Follo w the instr uctions on sharpening and maintaining your bar and chain. When you replace the bar and chain use only combinations that are recommended by us. See instructions under the headings Cutting equipment and T echnical data.

There is little r isk of the chain jamming or the object splitting. Howe ver there is a risk that the chain will touch the ground when you finish the cut.

It is safer to work from the top down and to hav e the tree between you and the saw . Remov e any undergrowth from the base of the tree and chec k the area f or obstacles (stones, branches, holes , etc.
WORKING TECHNIQUES English – 27 The felling hinge controls the direction that the tree f alls in. All control ov er the felling direction is lost if the felling hinge is too narro w or non-e xistent, or if the directional cuts and felling cut are badly placed.
WORKING TECHNIQUES 28 – English Contin ue to cut deeper until tree/limb bends and tension is released. Cut tree/limb from outside the bend, after tension has been released.
MAINTENANCE English – 29 Carburettor Y our Husqvarna product has been designed and manuf actured to specifications that reduce har mful emissions. After the engine has used 8-10 tanks of fuel the engine will be run-in.
MAINTENANCE 30 – English High speed jet H This chain saw is equipped with a carb urettor that has a built-in fix ed high speed jet. CA UTION! There is an integ rated speed governor in the ignition that limits the maximum speed to 12,000 rpm. Adjusting the jet therefore has no eff ect on the maximum speed.
MAINTENANCE English – 31 Chec king the brake trigger Place the chain saw on firm ground and start it. Mak e sure the chain does not touch the ground or any other object. See the instructions under the heading Star t and stop. Grasp the chain saw firmly , wrapping your fingers and thumbs around the handles .
MAINTENANCE 32 – English Vibration damping system Regular ly check the vibration damping units f or cracks or deformation. Make sure the vibration damping units are securely attached to the engine unit and handle unit. Stop switch Star t the engine and make sure the engine stops when you mov e the stop switch to the stop setting.
MAINTENANCE English – 33 • Pull out the cord approx. 30 cm and hook it into the notch in the rim of the pulley . Release the recoil spring by letting the pulle y rotate slowly backwards . • Undo the screw in the centre of the pulle y and remove the pulle y .
MAINTENANCE 34 – English Air filter The air fi lter must be regularly cleaned to remov e dust and dir t in order to av oid: • Carburettor malfunctions • Star ting problems • Loss of engine power • Unnecessary wear to engine par ts. • Excessive fuel consumption.
MAINTENANCE English – 35 Needle bearing lubrication The clutch dr um is fitted with one of the following driv e sprock ets: • A Spur sprock et (the chain sprocket is welded on the drum) • B Rim sprocket (replaceab le) • Both versions ha ve a needle bearing on the drive shaft, which has to be g reased regularly (once a week).
