7 2.1. 2 Key Funct ion s at Your Finger tips 2.2 Installing Your Mobile Phone 2.2. 1 Instal ling the SIM Card There are two steps to install t he SIM card: 9 The second mic rophone 10 Headset jack 11 Power key • Press and ho ld to power on your mobile phone.
8 1. Remove the battery cover. 2. Insert the SIM card. 2.2. 2 Instal li ng the Bat tery 1. Press the center on the back of the phone and open the battery c over with another finger. 2. Angle the edge labeled 1 (with the contacts) int o the bottom end of the battery slot.
9 2.2. 4 Import ant I nformat ion Abo ut the B atter y • If the battery has not been used for a long period of time, y ou may not be able to power on you r mobile phone immediately after you begin charging the ba ttery. Allow the battery to charg e for a few minutes with the phone powered off before attempting to power on th e phone.
10 2.3 Power On or Off Your Mobile Phone 2.3.1 Powering On Your Mobile P hone Press and hold . The first time you power on you r phone, you will be asked to sign in to your account and set up your mobile pho ne.
11 2.3. 6 Using A irpl ane Mode Some locations may r equire you to turn off your phone’s wireless connecti ons. Rather than powering off your phone, you can place it in Airplane mode . 1. Press and hold . 2. Touch Airplane mode in the opt ions menu.
12 2.5.2 Unlocking the S creen 1. Press to wake up the screen. 2. Drag the lock icon from left to right to unlock the screen. If you have set up a screen unlock pattern, you will be prompted to draw the pattern on the screen to unlock it. 2.6 Home Screen 10:23 Touch to view all your applications.
13 Touch and hold one of the shortcuts unt il the mobile phone vibrates, you can drag it to your desired loc ation or move it to the trash. You can also drag a s creen item to the shortcut position.
14 2.6.2 Notifications Panel Your mobile phone will notify you wh en you receive a new message or there is an upcoming event. The notifications panel als o informs you of alarms and settings, for example, you w ill be notified when Call forwarding is activated.
15 2.6.3 Viewing Other Parts of the Hom e Screen Touch > Home settings > Advance d setti ngs > Screen number to set the screen number. 2.6.4 Customizing the H ome Screen Adding a New Screen Item 1. Touch and hold a blank area on the Ho me screen until the Select action menu is displayed.
16 Removing a Screen Item 1. Touch and hold an item on the Home s creen until the item expands and the mobile phone vibrates. 2. Without lifting your finger, drag the item to the trash can. When the item and the trash can turn red, the item is rea dy to be removed.

18 1. Connect your mobile phone to yo ur PC wi th the USB cable. Your PC will detect the microSD card as a remov able disk. 2. Open the notification bar, and then tou ch USB connected . 3. Touch Turn on USB storage in the dialog box that opens to confirm that you want to trans fer files.
19 3.1. 1 Making a Cal l wit h the Dia ler App lica tion 1. Touch > Diale r to display the dialer. If you are alre ady working with Contacts or Call lo g , touch the Dialer tab.
20 3.2.2 Ending a Call During a call, touch End to hang up. 3.2.3 Rejecting an Inco ming Call Drag the to the left to reject t he call. You can touch the bar at the bottom of the screen to reject a call and send the caller a message.
21 3.3 Other Operation s During a Call 3.3.1 Making a Conferenc e Call If you receive a new call while you are alr eady on a call, you can connec t the second call to the call you are on. This feature is known as conference calling. You can also set up a conference call with multiple callers.

26 4.10.1 Joining Contac ts Make sure you hav e added an account an d have duplicate contacts in Contacts, and they are saved in your phone . 1. Touch > Contacts . 2. Touch a duplicated contact. 3. Touch Joined Contacts > Add contact . 4. Select the contact to be joined to combine two d uplicate contacts.

28 2. Select an input method to customize th e keyboard settings. 6 Messaging The Messaging application allows you to exchange text messages (SMS) and multimedia messages (MMS) with anyon e using an SMS-or-MMS-capable phone. With the Email application you can read and sen d emails.

37 Opening a Bookmark 1. In a browser window, touch , and then touch Bookmarks . On the Bookmarks screen, touch the Histor y tab to view the pages you have visited. Or touch the Most visited tab to view the pages you hav e visited most frequently. 2. Touch the bookmark of the website you want to open.

39 8.1 Taking Pho tos and Recording Vide os The camera is a comb ination of camera and camcorder that you ca n use to shoot and share pictures and videos . 8.1.1 Opening You r Camera • Touch > Camera to open the camera. The camera opens in landsc ape mode, ready t o take a picture or record a video.
40 8.1. 3 Viewin g Your Phot os 1. After taking a photo, a thumbnail of th e photo you have just taken is shown in the upper right corner of the capture screen. Touch the thumbna il to view it. 2. 52 10.1.1 Adding an Account When you add an account, Contacts compares contacts fr om the newly synchronized accoun t with contacts from your existin g mobile phone accounts and attempts to merge dup licates into a single entry in Contacts . While it is presented as a single contact entry, the contact d ata itself is not merged.
53 10.2 Customizing Y our Account Synchronization You can configure backg round data use and synchronization opt ions for all the applications on your phone.
54 11 Using Other Applications 11.1 Using the Calendar Use Calendar to create and manage events, meetings, and appointments. Depending on your sync hronization settings, the ca lendar on your phone can be synchronized w ith the internet-base d calendar you us e.
55 11.1.3 Setting an Event Rem inder 1. On any calendar view, touch an event to view its details or an event summary. 2. Touch the Add reminder button to add a reminder.
