Installation 3 Installing a SIM Car d Install a SIM card as shown in the follow ing diagram. When inst alli ng the SI M card, pu sh the c ard int o the sl ot unt il it clicks into place. Installing and Removing a microSD Card Your phon e's memory cap acity can be expa nded by installin g a microSD card .
Installation 4 When installing the m icroSD card, pu sh the card into th e slot until it clicks into place. To remove th e microSD card: 1. On the Home screen, touch > Settings .
Installation 5 • Steady green: Th e phone is charging and the battery level is high or full . • Steady yellow: Th e phone is charging and the batte ry level is higher t han 10%. • Steady red: The ph one is charging an d the battery level is low.
Installation 6 • If your phone is very low on power, it displays a me ssage. If your phone is extrem ely low on power, it will po wer off automatically.
7 Getting Started Powering Your Phone On or Off • When your phone is of f, press and hold to power it on. If your SIM card is protecte d by a PIN, you must enter it to use the phon e. • When your phone is on , press and hold to display t he options menu.
Getting Started 8 or in other environment s you are required to switch off your phone completely. Restarting Your Phone 1. Press and ho ld to display the options menu. 2. Touch Restart > OK to restart your phone. Configuring Yo ur Phone for the First Time A configuration wizard is d isplayed the first time th e phone is powered on.

Getting Started 11 Locking and Unlo cking the Screen Locking the Screen • To loc k the screen when the phone is active, pr ess . • If the phone is idle for a sp ecified period of time, th e phone automatically locks its scree n. On the Home screen, touch > Settings > Security > Screen lo ck to select a method for unlocking the sc reen.

21 Calling To make a call, you ca n manually enter phone num bers on the dialer, touch a numb er in your contacts list or ca ll log, or use voice control. Du ring a call, you can choose to keep the current call on hold to answer a n incoming call, forw ard the incoming call to your voicemail, or star t a conference call.
Calling 22 Using Voice Dialing Calls can be place d using voice dialing. W hen you open the voice dialing application, y our phone's speak er will be enabled. Background noise will affect the accuracy of voice d ialing. 1. On the Home screen, touch > Voice Dialer .
Calling 23 • Reject the call and send a text me ssage to the caller: Drag upwards. On the Phone screen, touch > Settings > Quick responses to edit the message that will be sent. Operations During a C all During an activ e call, you can tou ch any of t he foll owing b uttons : • : Ends the call.

Email/Gmail 51 Gmail Gmail is Google's web-ba sed email service. When you first set up your phone, yo u may have to set it up to use an existing Gmail account or create an account. Th e first time you ope n Gmail on your phone, th e Inbox screen is displayed.

To open the Play Store , on the Home screen, touch > Play Store . When you open Play Store for the first time, the Google Play Terms of Service window will appear.
