Control panel features 1 On : Turns the product on or off. When the product is off, a minimal am ount of power is still used. To completely remove power, turn off the product, then unplug the power cord. 2 Cancel : Stops the curre nt operation. 3 Scan : Starts a scan of an original placed on the glass.

5. Select the appropriate op tions for your print job by usi ng the features available in the Advanced , Printing Shortcuts , Features , and Color tabs. TIP: You can easily select the app ropriate options for your print job by choosing one of the predefi ned print tasks on the Printing Shortcuts tab.
7. In the Resizin g Options area, click the appropriat e paper size from the Size list . If the paper size and pa per type are not compatible, the produ ct software displays an alert and allows you t o select a different type or size. 8. In the Basi c Options area, select a high print quality, such as Best , from the Print Quality drop -down list.
9. Select the B orderless printing check box if it is not already checked. If the borderl ess paper size and paper type are not compatible, t he product software displays an alert an d allows you to select a di fferent type or size. 10. Click OK , and then click Print or OK in the Prin t dialog box.
6. Click the Features tab, and then select the f ollowing print setting s: • Paper Type : Plain paper • Size : An appropriate envelope size 7. Select any other print set tings that you want, and the n click OK .

Click the Features tab, and then specify the following print settings: • Paper Type : Click More , click Specialty Papers , and then select an appropriat e card type.
Print brochures 1. Slide the paper g uide all the way to the l eft. 2. Place the paper in the right side of the tray. The side to be prin ted on should face down. 3. Push the pa per into the printer until it sto ps. 4. Slide the paper guide firmly against the edge of th e paper.
7. Click the Features tab, and then specify the following print settings: • Print Quality : Normal • Paper Type : Click More , and then select an ap propriate card type. • Size : An appropriate card size 8. Select any other print settings that you want, and then click OK .

Print iron-o n transfer s 1. Slide the paper guide all the way to the left. 2. Place the iron-on transfer paper in the right sid e of the tray. The side to be printed on should face down. 3. Push the paper into the printe r until it stops. 4. Slide the paper guide firml y against the edge of t he paper.
Print a Web page You can print a Web page fro m your Web browser on the HP All-in -One. If you use Interne t Explorer 6.0 or higher for Web browsing, you can u se HP Smart Web Printing to ensure simple, predi ctable web printing with control over what you w ant and how you want it printed.
• HP Advanced Phot o Paper • Photo Hagaki Printing in maximum dpi takes longer than printing with other setti ngs and requires a large amount of disk spa ce. To print in Ma ximum dpi mode 1. Make sure you have paper l oaded in the input t ray. 2. On th e File menu in your soft ware application, click Print .
Use printing shortcuts Use printing shortcuts to print with print settings that you use often. The printer soft ware has several specially d esigned printing shortcuts that a re available in the Printing Shortcuts list. NOTE: When you select a print ing shortcut the approp riate printing optio ns are automatically displa yed.
NOTE: Only the shortcuts that you ha ve created can be deleted. Th e original HP shortcuts cannot be de leted. Set the default print settings If there are settin gs that you frequently use for printin.

Order ink supplies For a list of cartridge numbers, use the sof tware that came with th e HP All-in-One to find out the reorder numbe r. Find the cartridg e number 1. In th e HP Solution Cente r, click Settings , point to Print Settings , and then click Printer Toolbo x .
Automatically clean print cartridges If your printed pages are fa ded or if they contain ink streaks, the print cartridges might be low on ink or m ight need to be cleaned. For m ore information, see “ Check the estimated ink levels” on page 37 . If the print cart ridges are not low on ink, clean the print cartridges automaticall y.
4. Inspect the print cartridge contacts f or ink and debris buildup . 5. Dip a clean foam rubber swab or lint-free cloth into distill ed water, and squeeze any excess water from i t . 6. Hold the print cartridge by it s sides. 7. Clean only the copper-colored contacts.

Solution 1: Make sure th e power cord is connected Solution: • Make sure the power cord is f irmly connected to both the product and the power adapter. To verify that t he software is properly installed, double-click the HP Soluti on Center icon on the desktop. If the H P Solution Center shows the essenti al icons ( Scan Picture and Scan Document ), the software has been properly installed .

Store photo me dia in its original packaging i nside a resealable pla stic bag on a flat surface in a cool, dry place. Wh en you are ready to prin t, remove only the pap er you plan to use immed iately. When you have finishe d printing, return any unu sed photo paper to the pla stic bag.
Aligning the prin ter can help ensure excellent print quality. To align the printer 1. Load letter , A4, or legal unused plain whi te paper into the inpu t tray. 2. In the HP So lution Center, click Settings . 3. In the Print Settings area, click Printer Toolbox .

3. Print a document with little or no text. 4. Check the back of the paper for ink. If t here is still ink on the back of the pa per, try printing on an other page of plain paper. Cause: Ink accumulated inside the product, where the back of th e paper rests during pr inting.

If this works, then try printing a previously saved version of the document th at is not corrupt. Cause: The document was corrupt. The pages in my document came out in the wrong order Solution: Print the document in reverse order.
Solution 2: Verify th e paper size setting Solution: Verify that you have selected t he proper paper size setting for your project. Make sure tha t you have loaded the correct paper size in t he input tray. Cause: The paper size setting was not set correctly for the project you were p rinting.

Out of disk space Solution: Close some applications and try the task again. Cause: There was not eno ugh available memory on your compute r to perform the task. Paper messages The following is a list of paper-rela ted error messages: • Ink is drying Ink is drying Solution: Leave the sheet in the outpu t tray until the message disapp ears.
Non-HP cartridg es installed Solution: Follow th e prompts on the computer screen to continue or replac e the indicated print cartridge s with genuine HP cartridges.
Cause: The original HP ink in the indicated print ca rtridges was depleted. Low on ink Solution: Ink level warnings and indicators provide estim ates for planning purposes only. When you rece ive a low-ink warnin g message, consider having a replacemen t cartridge availabl e to avoid possible printing d elays.
Incorrectly In stalled Cartridge(s) Print Cartridge(s) Missing Print cartridges m issing or not detected Try the following so lutions to resolve the issue. Solut ions are listed in order, with the most likely solution f irst. If the first solution d oes not solve the problem, continue trying the remaining soluti ons until the issue is resolved.
5. Reinsert the print cart ridge by sliding it forward into t he slot on the right. Then push the print cartridge forward until it clicks in to the socket. 6. Repeat steps 1 and 2 f or the tri-color print cartridge on the left side. Cause: The indicated print cartridges were installed incorrectly.
7. Clean only the copper-colored contacts. Allow the print cartridges to dry for approximatel y ten minutes. 1 Copper -colored c ontacts 2 Ink nozzles (do not clean) 8. Hold the print cartrid ge with the HP logo on top, and insert t he print cartridge back into the sl ot.
Check to see if your print cart ridge is still under warrant y and end of warranty date has not been rea ched. • If the end of warranty date has been reached, p urchase a new print cartrid ge. • If the end of warrant y date has not been reached, contact HP support.
Print cartridges i n wrong slot Solution: Make sure the print cart ridges are inst alled into the correct slots. If they are, remove and reinsert the print cart ridges and verify that they are fully insert ed and locked in pla ce. To make sure the print cartridges are in stalled correctly 1.
5. Reinsert the print cart ridge by sliding it forward into t he slot on the right. Then push the print cartridge forward until it clicks in to the socket.
