Fuser failure det ection The DC control ler dete rmine s a fuse r uni t failure , deac tivates the F USER HE ATER C ONTROL signal , releas es the r elay to interru pt power supply to th e fuse r heate.
Fuser temperature control The fus er temper ature control mainta ins the temp erature o f the fuse r heater at i ts targe ted temperat ure. The DC control ler moni tors the FUSER TEMPER ATURE (F SRTH1, F SRTH2) s ignals and s ends the FUSER HEATER CONTROL (FSRD) s ignal ac cord ing to the detec ted tem peratur e.
Fuser protective function The prot ect ive function detec ts an abn ormal tempera ture ri se of the fus er uni t and in terrupts power supply to the fuse r heater.
Low-voltage power supply The l ow-volt age po wer supp ly (LVPS ) conv erts ac input v oltage to d c voltag e. The LVPS ha s two fuses on the P CA. T he LVPS 24 V output is interr upted to the fu ser and the hi gh-volta ge pow er suppl y if the cartridg e-door i nterl ock swi tch (SW50 1) i s in th e off position (cove r open) .
Overcurrent/ove rvoltage protection The l ow-volta ge pow er suppl y ha s a pro tective function agains t overc urrent a nd overvol tage to preve nt failur es in the power supply circuit. If an overcur rent or overvol tage c onditi on occ urs, the system automati call y cuts o ff the output voltage.
High-voltage power supply The high- v olta ge pow er suppl y (H VP S) appl ie s biase s to the foll owi ng compo nen ts: ● Primar y c har gi ng ro ll er ● Developin g r ol ler ● Tran sfer ro lle.
Formatter Formatter heart beat LED The heartbea t LED indicates t hat the formatter is functioning correctly. While the p roduct is initiali zing after you turn the prod uct on, th e LED bl inks rapi dly, and then tu rns off. Whe n the prod uct ha s finished the initia lization sequ ence, the heartb eat LED pulses on and off.
Laser/scanner system The lase r/s c anne r sys tem re ce ives VIDEO sig nal s from the EC U and the forma tter and c onv erts th e signal s into laten t imag es on th e phot osens iti ve dr um . The m ain co mponents of the laser/ scanne r are th e laser unit and the s canner m otor unit.
Laser failure detection The DC control ler dete rmine s an opti cal unit failu re and n otifies the formatter, if the las er/scann er encount ers the follo win g co nditio ns : ● The scann er mo tor does not reac h a spec ified rotation withi n a spec ified period of the scanne r motor s tart up.

Pickup, fee d, and delivery syste m The pick up /fee d/de liv er y system consists of se veral types of feed rol lers an d se nsors . Th e ECU uses a motor and two s olenoids to dri ve the ro llers . Three media-de tectio n sensor s detect pap er as it passes thro ugh the pr oduct .

Jam detection The produ ct uses th e followi ng sensors to detect the pr esence of me dia and to che ck for jams. If m edia does n ot re ach or pass ea ch se nsor wi thin a s pecif ied time, the E CU dete rmines that a jam has occur red and alerts the forma tter.

3. Slightly slide the as sembly toward the left sid e of th e produc t to rel ease it fr om the h inge pins. CAUTION: Do n ot damage the pl astic li nk arm (cal lout 1). Lower-right cover and brac ket NOT E: You do n ot need to rem ove the she et-me tal bracket to remove the lo wer-ri ght cover. However, you mu st re move the brac ket and t he cov er w hen remov ing s ome of the ot her pro duct c omponents in this c hapter.
3. To remove the bracket only: : Sli de the shee t-meta l bracke t up to rel ease it, and then r emove the bracke t. NOTE: You might ne ed to slightly pull outward on the lo wer-right co ver (call out 1) to release the sheet-me t al br ac ket .
