1 Product Features HP Digital Signage Models The HP LCD digital signage mon itors have a wide aspect active matrix thin-film transistor (TFT) panel. The monitors fea ture: ● LD4200 model, 10 6.7 cm (42-inch) widescreen diagon al viewable area displa y with 1920 x 108 0 native resolution ● LD4700 model, 11 9.
2 Safety and Maintenance Guidelines Important Safety Information A power cord is included with the monitor. If an other cord is used, u se only a power source a nd connectio n appropr iate for th is monitor. For inform ation on th e correct po wer cord set to use with the monitor, r efer to the Power Cord Set Requirements on page 68 .

3 Setting Up the Monitor To set up the monitor, en sure that the power is turned off to the monito r, computer system, a nd other attached devices, then follow the instructions below. Installing the Stand (Sold Separately) 1. Remove the screws (1), m onitor stand (2) and cable m anagement clip (3) from the box.
2. Place a soft cloth o n the table and pla ce the product with the scre en facing downward. Conne ct the stand as shown in the following illustrations.

Using the Remote Control Inserting the Batteries 1. Slide off the battery cover. 2. Insert the batteries with correct polarity (+/-). 3. Close the battery cove r.

Connecting to External Devices Connecting to the Computer 1. Be sure the monito r, computer and all attached devices are turned o ff. 2. Connect the signal input cable: a. For analog ope ration, connect th e VGA (D-sub) signal cable to the RGB IN (1) conn ector on the re ar of the monitor and the other end to the VG A connector (2) on the computer.
4. Connect the AC power cord to the power connector (1 ) on the rear of the mo nitor and the other end to an electrical outlet (2). WARNING ! To reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to the equipment: • Do not disable the power cord grou nding feature.
Press the INPUT bu tton on the remot e control to select the input signal. Press the SET button to save your change. Or, press the SOURC E button on the ba ck side of the monitor panel. Press the AUTO /SET button to save your change. a. When connecting with a VGA signal input cable, select the RGB PC from t he Input menu.
A security cable provi sion is available o n the rear of the moni tor to help prevent theft. T he cable and lock are available se parate and can be p urchased from HP . Press the INPUT bu tton on the remot e control to select the input signal. Press the SET button to save your change. Or, press the SOURC E button on the ba ck side of the monitor panel. Press the AUTO /SET button to save your change. a. When connecting with a BNC cable, select AV from the Input menu.
Connecting HDMI Input (480p/720p/1080i/1080p) HDMI supports High Definition Inp ut and HDCP (H igh-band width Digital Conten t Protection). Some devices require HDC P in or der to display HD signals. 1. Connect the video/a udio cable (not in cluded) as shown in the following illustration, and then connect the power cord.
Watching AV Outputs When using AV input, you can connect the AV Out to other mon itors. Connect the BNC cable (1) an d audio cable (2) to th e video/TV (3) and t o the monitor (4).
4 Operating the Monitor Software and Utilities The CD that comes with the monitor contains files that you can instal l on the computer to enhance th e performance of the monitor. ● HP monitor driver software, which automatically detects the computer's Micro soft Operating System and installs the corresponding .
Installing the .INF and .ICM Files After you determi ne that you need to update, you ca n instal l the .INF and .ICM files from th e CD or download them. Installing from the CD To install the .INF and .ICM files on the computer from th e CD: 1. Insert the CD in the computer CD-ROM drive.
Component Funct ion 1 Source Toggles between video inputs: ● AV - Composite Video, S-Video ● Component1 - HDTV, DVD ● Component2 - HDTV, DVD ● RGB PC - VGA or 15-pin D-Sub analog signal ● HDMI/DVI - Digital signal 2 Menu Opens or closes the OSD (On-screen Display) menu screen.
Using the Auto-Adjustment Function You can optimize the screen pe rformance for the VG A (analog) input by usin g the Auto/Set button on the monitor (AUTO button on the remote control) an d the auto-adjustment pattern so ftware utility on the CD provided .
Using the Remote Contro l to Adjust the OSD Use the OSD to adjust the screen image based on yo ur vie wing preferences. To access the OSD, do the following: 1. If the monitor is not alrea dy on, press the po wer button to turn o n the monitor. 2. Press the MENU button (1) on the remote control.
OSD Menu Selections The following table l ists the On-Screen Display (O SD) menu selections an d their functional descriptions . Icon Main Menu Submenu Description Picture Picture Mode Selects your screen presets. Toggle between: ● Vivid - select to display with a sharp image.
Icon Main Menu Submenu Description Advanced Selects the following screen color adjustment settings: ● Gamma - set your own gamma value. On the monitor, high gamma values display whitish ima ges and low gamma values display high contrast images. ● Film Mode - function works in the following mode: AV, Component 480i.
Icon Main Menu Submenu Description ◦ V-Position - moves the sc reen po sition vertically. ◦ H-Size - adjusts the horizontal size of the screen. ◦ V-Size - adjusts the vertic al size of the screen. XGA Mode (RGB-PC only) - provides improved o r better picture quality, select the same mode corresponding to computer resolution.
Icon Main Menu Submenu Description Key Lock Sets up the monitor so that it can only be used with the r emote control. This feature can prevent unau thorized viewing. ISM Method Avo ids allowing a fixed or burn-in image to remain on the screen for a long period of time.
Adjusting the Timer Function Use the r emote con trol to se t the following timer options. Clock The Clock menu allows yo u to reset the clock ma nua lly if the current time is incorrect. To reset the clock: 1. Press the MENU button and then use ▼▲ butt ons to select the Time menu.
Selecting Options Using the Key Lock The monitor can b e set up so you can only use the remote control. To lock or unlock the OSD screen adjustment: 1. Open the OSD menu and se lect Option. 2. Select Key Lock from th e menu list. 3. To lock the O SD screen adjustment, set the Key Lock tab to the ON po sition.

A Troubleshooting Solving Common Problems The following table list s possible problems, the possible cause of each problem, and t he recommended solutions. Problem Possible Cause Solution No image is displayed. Power cord not connected. Be sure the power cord is properly connected to the outlet.
