8 GPSmile52 Using the stylus This unit can be controlled easily thou gh the touch screen. The stylus is an assist tool for op erating th is unit and is concealed in a pen sl ot at the rear. 11 GPSmile52 Using the In Veh icle Bracket The includ ed in vehicle bracke t set ca n be securely su ct io ned on the front windsh ield, or using th e adhesive pl ate, securing on top of the glove compart ment. This d evice will eff ectivel y secure th e GPS unit in th e vehicle.

13 GPSmile52 Operating Methods Startup 1. For first t ime use, plea se turn t he system p ower switch at the rea r side On . 2. Press and hold th e power button f or about two se conds to turn on the power. Note: Before the first time use, pl ease sw itch the sy stem power on.

15 GPSmile52 Function Menu The function menu is th e main functi on window ot her than th e naviga tion screen and includes syst em settings, n avigation settings, schedule pl ans, GPS status, MP3, image browsing. 16 GPSmile52 Setting The setting function gives you the ability to adjust th e basic system options, including time settings, volu me control, screen calibration, sta rtup message, backlig ht setting, versio n info, and GPS re set etc. You can modif y the sett ings acco rding t o persona l pref erences.

19 GPSmile52 Backlight Settings The backlight settings w ill adjust the brightness of the backlight and the auto-off time . 1. Under the settin gs window, select Backlight to e nter the backlight sett ings window.

21 GPSmile52 Music Playback Function This unit has an MP 3 Music Play back function that is capable of playing back MP3 fi les stored on SD memor y cards. Storing MP3 files onto S D memory cards On your co mputer, yo u must fi rst conve rt the mu sic from an audio CD into MP3 files, then save them onto the SD memo ry card.
