POW ER SOUR CES - 10 - 1. Plug the AC adaptor/charger power cord into AC electric al outlet. 2. Connect one end of the DC c ord (provided) to the "DC IN 9.6V" jac k of the cam cor der. Connect the other end of the DC cord to the "DC OUT PUT" of the AC adaptor /charger.

DATE /TIM E SE TTING - 19 - DA TE/TIME SETTING The date and tim e can be r ecorded on your tapes to act as a handy reference when viewing them at a later time. Use the following procedur e to set up this dis play for the c urrent date and tim e. The tim e back up battery is rechargeable.

FADE IN/FADE OUT (Onl y for VM- 7400A) - 27 - • Wipe fade: The picture opens gradually from the c enter of a blac k s creen or closes into the c enter to a black screen. W hen "DISPLAY" is pres sed and the display appears in the viewfinder, " " appears in the upper left corner of the viewfinder.

TIT LE RECORDING - 29 - "INDEX" signals are r ecorded when the following operations ar e perfor m ed. • W hen the power is turned on about 4 hours after it is switched off and then recor ding is started. • W hen the power is turned on after the date is changed to the nex t day with the power off and then recor ding is started.
TIT LE RECORDING - 30 - NOTE: A title contains two lines of up to 16 character s per line. A char t showing the charac ters contained in the titler is located on page 29. 5. After you have selected the fir st charac ter, press "SHIFT " to m ove the flashing c ursor to the plac e y ou want the next charac ter.

Connect the audio/video cable to "AUDIO" and "VIDEO" of your camc order.
USING THE BUILT-IN C AMERA LIGHT (Onl y for VM- 7400A) - 34 - 1 Make s ure that a fully charged battery pack or AC adaptor/c harger is attac hed. 2. Set "CA M /OFF/VIDEO" to "CA M" and then set "LIG HT" to "AUTO" when required.
VIEW FINDER BRIGHT CONTROL - 35 - VIEWFINDER BRIGHT CONTROL Viewfinder brightness can be adjus ted by turning the "BRIGHT" contr ol. This does not aff ect the pic ture actually recorded by the camc order. HOW TO A TTA CH THE SHOULDER STRAP Attach the shoulder s trap (pr ovided), as illustr ated.
