IMAGETEAM™ 2020/5620 System Manual 1 - 1 1 Getting Star ted The IMAGETEAM 5620 cordless scanning system consists of one IT2020-5A base and one IT5620 Cordless Linear Imager. Up to seven scanners may be linked to one base. The IT5620 marks a new performance level for hand held scanners.

The aiming line should be centered horizontally over the bar code; it will not read if the aiming line is in any other direction.

Use only IT2020-5A serial wedge cables to prevent damage to the base. Refer to Connecting the Base wi th RS-232 Serial Port on page 2-7 to set the baud rate and communications protocol.

Default = 25 inches/second. W and Emulation Polarity The Polarity can be sent as standard with black bars high, or reversed with white bars high.
IMAGETEAM™ 2020/5620 System Manual 2 - 15 W and Emulation Idle The idle describes the state of the sca nner when no data is be ing transmitted. When in Wand Emulation mode, you must set the scanner’s idle state to match the idle state for the device to which the scanner is connected.

The check ch aracter is the character which when Exclusive-OR’d with every preceding character of the message yields a result of 0x00 (00H).

Beeper Duration – Good Read The beeper duration codes m odify the length of the beep the scanner emits on a good read.

When centering is tu rned on, the scanner only reads codes that intersect or are contained within th e centering window you set up.

If you press and hold the trigger, aiming the scanner at a series of symbols, it re ads unique symbols once, beeping (if turned on) for each read.

Charts of these function codes are provided in Supported Interface Keys starting on page 7-3 .

6 - 2 IMAGETEAM™ 2020/5620 System Manual Message Length You are able to set the valid reading length of some of the bar code symbologies. If the data length of the scanned bar code doesn’t match the valid reading length, the scanner will issue an error beep.

6 - 16 IMAGETEAM™ 2020/5620 System Manual Code 128, continued ISBT 128 Concatenation In 1994 the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) ratified a standard for communicating critical blood informat ion in a uniform manner. The use of ISBT formats requires a paid license.
IMAGETEAM™ 2020/5620 System Manual 6 - 17 Code 128 Function Code T ransmit By default, Code 128 function codes are not transmitted with Code 128 bar code data. However, if you wish to transmit Code 128 function codes with the bar code data, scan the Function Codes On bar code, below.
