When you enter the two street names and a city , and the Find feature matches them with intersections in the map database.

26 GPSMAP 60CSx Owner ’s Manual B ASIC O PERA TION > Using T racks The T racks feature creates an electronic breadcrumb trail or “track log” on the Map Page as you travel. The track log contains information about points along its path, including time, location, elevation, and depth for each point (depth requires NMEA input, see page 92).
GPSMAP 60CSx Owner ’s Manual 27 B ASIC O PERA TION > • Wrap When Full —sets the track log to record over the oldest data with new data when full. • Record Method — Distance records track points after a specified distance is traveled. Time creates track points after a specified time has elapsed.

GPSMAP 60CSx Owner ’s Manual 33 B ASIC O PERA TION > Methods of navigating to a destination • If you select the Go T o button on the W aypoint Page or other Find Menu items, the GPSMAP 60CSx creates a straight path (point to point) from your current location to that location.

GPSMAP 60CSx Owner ’s Manual 37 M AIN P AGES > M AIN P AGES The GPSMAP 60CSx has six main pages: Satellite Page, T rip Computer Page, Map Page, Compass Page, Altimeter Page, and the Main Menu. Y ou can cycle through these pages by pressing the P AGE key to move forward or pressing the QUIT key to reverse.
38 GPSMAP 60CSx Owner ’s Manual M AIN P AGES > Satellite Page The Satellite Page shows the receiver status, satellite locations, satellite signal strength, and the receiver ’ s current location when the unit receives signals from at least three satellites.
GPSMAP 60CSx Owner ’s Manual 39 M AIN P AGES > Map Page The GPSMAP 60CSx comes with a built-in basemap that includes a database of cities, interstates, state and county highways, exit information, and lake and river outlines. The standard basemap can be enhanced using MapSource or BlueChart data.

GPSMAP 60CSx Owner ’s Manual 47 M AIN P AGES > Turning Declutter On or Of f Y ou can remove unwanted items from the Map Page display (declutter the display) such as map item titles and icons. This is useful when the map is zoomed to a scale that is partially obscured by titles and icons that remain the same size regardless of the map scale.

The bearing pointer indicates the direction to your destination, and the course pointer indicates your relationship to a course line leading to the destination.

It indicates your current speed, average speed, trip odometer , and many other helpful statistics useful for navigation.
64 GPSMAP 60CSx Owner ’s Manual M AIN M ENU > M AIN M ENU The Main Menu contains settings and features not found on the main pages and sub-menus. The time and date are shown at the bottom of this page. The Main Menu is accessible from any page by pressing MENU twice.

T o access the Marine Setup Page: On the Setup Menu Page, highlight the Marine icon, and press ENTER . • Anchor Drag Alarm —sets an alarm to sound when you exceed a specified drift distance.

T o access the Units Setup Page: On the Setup Menu Page, highlight the Units icon, and press ENTER . Units icon • Position Format—sets the coordinate system in which a particular location is shown.

NOTE: Unless you have a working knowledge of headings and North r efer encing, it is r ecommended that you use the default values.
76 GPSMAP 60CSx Owner ’s Manual M AIN M ENU > Altimeter Setup The Altimeter Setup Page allows you to setup the altimeter to self-calibrate each time you turn on the unit, to function as a barometer , or to manually calibrate when you have accurate elevation or pressure data.
GPSMAP 60CSx Owner ’s Manual 77 M AIN M ENU > Allow the GPS Receiver to determine the elevation: the GPS receiver estimates the current elevation when determining its location. The accuracy varies depending on the position of satellites overhead.
78 GPSMAP 60CSx Owner ’s Manual M AIN M ENU > Jumpmaster Jumpmaster is an accessory designed for experienced skydivers. A jumpmaster is the individual in charge of a group of skydivers coordinating a group or cargo drop. A list of abbreviations and acronyms for Jumpmaster settings can be found on page 81.
