The standard basemap can be enhanced using Garmin’ s MapSource products.

The features are arranged on a tab menu making it easy to locate the different setup items. The General, Map, W aypoint, Point, Marine, Line, Area, T opo, City , Road, and Other tabs have setting for T ext or Zoom .

T rip Odom —displays the total distance traveled since the T rip Computer was last reset. Stopped T ime —displays the total time that the unit was not moving since the T rip Computer was last reset.
40 GPSMAP 76 Owner ’s Manual M AIN M ENU > T RACKS T racks The T rack page displays the amount of T rack Memory used and allows you to Save or Clear the current T rack Log, and displays a list of any Saved T racks. Save —allows you to choose how far back in the log you wish to save.
GPSMAP 76 Owner ’s Manual 41 M AIN M ENU > T RACKS T rack Information Page T o access information on a Saved T rack, highlight the desired track. Press ENTER to display the T rack Information page. Name —allows you to change the Saved T rack Name.
42 GPSMAP 76 Owner ’s Manual M AIN M ENU > P OINTS Points The Points page allows you to search for W aypoints, Points of Interest, Cities, Exits, Addresses, and Intersections using your current location or a location on the map. Addresses and Intersections are only available with MapSource software.

When Intersection is selected, the Find Intersection page is displayed. T o find an Intersection, you must enter the First and Second street names.
GPSMAP 76 Owner ’s Manual 47 M AIN M ENU > R OUTES Routes A route is a series of waypoints used for point-to-point navigation. A route must have at least two waypoints, but can contain as many as 50 waypoints.
48 GPSMAP 76 Owner ’s Manual M AIN M ENU > P ROXIMITY Proximity Proximity waypoints can be used to alert you when you are approaching a predetermined area. When you place a waypoint in the Proximity List, you enter a Radius that determines when a Proximity Alarm is displayed.
GPSMAP 76 Owner ’s Manual 49 M AIN M ENU > C ELESTIAL Celestial The Celestial Menu lets you view information for T ides, Sun and Moon, or Hunt and Fish. Tides The T ides page displays a graphical chart which displays tide station information in a 24-hour span starting at midnight station time.

GPSMAP 76 Owner ’s Manual 55 M AIN M ENU > S ETUP M ENU Location Format —contains 31 different formats, such as Loran TD, MGRS, and Maidenhead. Y ou should not need to change the format unless you are using a chart or paper map for navigation. If so, find the format that most closely matches your chart.
