As you pan past the edge of the current Map Page, the screen actively scrolls forward to provide continuous map coverage.

The 19 Menu tabs are divided into categories by function. The Main Menu is available from any page in the system, and is accessed by pressing and holding ADJ/MENU .

The T rack Logs Page also provides an indicator of the memory used for the active track log and options to clear the track memory .

The 200 kHz frequency provides great bottom detail. The 50 kHz frequency provides less detailed information, but penetrates to greater depths with the same power .

GPSMAP 292/298 Owner ’s Manual 83 U SING S ONAR > U NDERST ANDING S ONAR Whiteline When the sonar sound waves are reflected back by the bottom, a hard bottom returns a stronger signal than a soft bottom. A thin whiteline indicates a softer bottom, while a thick whiteline indicates a harder bottom.
