2 Safety Precautions The provided "Safety Preca utions" docu ment contains im portant informatio n about the safe us e of the ScanSnap. Before using the ScanSnap, make sure to r ead and und erstand t he informati on provide d in the "Safety Pr ecautions" document.
3 1. Turn on the computer and log on as a user with Administra tor privil eges. 2. Insert the Setup DVD-ROM into t he DVD- ROM drive. D The [ScanSnap Set up] dialog box a ppears. 3. Click the [Install Pro ducts] button. D The [Welcome t o the InstallS hield Wizard for ScanSnap] di alog box appea rs.

5 D The installa tion is star ted. D The Cardiris in stallation window appears . 10. Scroll down and read the "License" to the end. Then, click the [Conti nue] button. D A confirmation messa ge window appear s. 11. Click the [Agree] button. D The [Selec t Destinat ion] window ap pears.
6 3. Connect cable s to the Scan Snap. z Using the Power Cable 1. Connect the power cable to the power connector of the ScanSnap and plug in the AC outlet. 2. Connect the USB cable to the USB con- nector on the ScanSnap and the USB port on your computer.
7 5. Check the ScanSnap Man ager icon. D The ScanSnap Manager icon appears on the taskbar. D The ScanSnap Manag er icon appears i n the Dock. D Connecting the Sc anSnap to your computer is complete.
8 2. Press the [Scan] button on the ScanSnap. D Scanning starts. D The Quick Menu appea rs when scanni ng is completed. 3. From the Quick Menu, click an icon for the item to be performed. D The selected item i s performed. When the ScanSnap is interacting with an appl ication, the applicati on window appears .
