2 Safety Precautions The provided "Safety Preca utions" docu ment contains im portant informatio n about the safe us e of the ScanSnap. Before using the ScanSnap, make sure to r ead and und erstand t he informati on provide d in the "Safety Pr ecautions" document.
3 1. Turn on the computer and log on as a user with Administra tor privil eges. 2. Insert the Setup DVD-ROM into t he DVD- ROM drive. D The [ScanSnap Setup] dialog b ox appears. 3. Click the [Install Pro ducts] button. D The [Welcome to t he InstallShi eld Wizard for ScanSnap] di alog box appea rs.

6 3. Connect cables t o the Scan Snap. z Using the Power Cable 1. Connect the power cable to the power connector of the ScanSnap and plug in the AC outlet. 2. Connect the USB cable to the USB con- nector on the ScanSnap and the USB port on your computer.
7 5. Check the ScanSnap Man ager icon. D The ScanSnap Mana ger icon appear s on the taskbar. D The ScanSnap Man ager icon appear s in the Dock. D Connecting the Sc anSnap to your computer is complete.
8 2. Press the [Scan] button on the ScanSna p. D Scanning sta rts. D The Quick Menu app ears when scann ing is completed. 3. From the Quick Menu, cl ick an icon for th e item to be performed. D The selected item is performe d. When the ScanSnap is interacting with an appl ication, the applicati on window appears .
