1 Introduction The VT Series (the Product) are Visual IR T hermometers that combine a center-point temperature measurement wi th a blended digital imag e and heat map overlay. The thermal image remov e s the time necessary for component- by-component measurement associat ed wi th a traditional spot thermomet er (radiometer).

Visual IR Thermometer Power On and Off 5 Power On and Off To turn on the Product, push and hold for 2 seconds. A start-up screen shows on the display and an i ndicator bar shows the status, see Figure 1. The indicator bar increases on power up and de creases on power down.

Image Blending Image blending makes it easier to underst an d infrared heat maps through the use of an aligned visible imag e and infr ared heat map.

This vertical parallax will ch ange with distance to your ob ject. To correct the parallax for a near or far distance, you have a visual ima ge alignment control.

VT02, VT04A, VT04 Users Manual 18 Color Palette The Palette menu changes the false-colo r pr esentation of t he infrared images that are on the display or captured. A va riety of palettes are available. Some palettes are more suitable for specific applic ations and are set as required.

The temperature thresh old is set for either the high or lo w alarm. When an alarm is set, you can quickly scan the sce ne and find objects that are above or below the threshold.

The dela y applies only when a temperature th reshold is breached and stays breach ed. When t he scene temperature goes below (or above for low alarm) the threshold temperatu re, the delay is reset to zero.
VT02, VT04A, VT04 Users Manual 24 Auto Off (VT04A, VT04) The Auto Off feature turns off the Prod uct after a selected time interval. The default setting is 10 minutes and is user-s electable as 5, 10, 15, or 20 minu tes of inactivity. LCD Brightness (VT04A, VT04) The brightness of the LCD backlight h as a low, medium, and high setting.

When the hot and cold markers are turned on, move the Product until the hot or cold spot coincides with the middle measurement area.

Visual IR Thermometer Specifications 29 VT04 To get the best performance from the Li-Ion battery, use these guidel ines: • Do not store the Product on the charger for more than 24 hours as reduced battery life may result. • Charge the Product for a 2-hour mi nimum at least every six months to maximize battery life.
