9 Calibration Each channel of the 1529 is cali brated independently of t he other channels and has its o wn set of calibrati on parameters. The 1529 should be calibrated at reg - ular intervals t o ensure that it c ontinues to measure with proper accurac y .
The calibration parameters C0, C100, and C400 can be adjusted to optimi ze the accuracy . These password-protected parameters are accessed from the CALI - BRA TION function of the SYSTEM menu. 9.1.2 PR T Calibration Procedure Calibration requires adjustment of the C0, C 100, and C400 parameters at t hree specific i nput resistances.
3. Connect a 400 Ω resistor (6 ppm accuracy) to the input and measure its resistance. Note the av erage error in the measurement. Adjust the C400 parameter by subtracting the measured error. F or example, if the input is exactly 400.0000 Ω and the readout shows 399.
2. Connect a 10 k Ω resistor (25 ppm accuracy) to the input and measure its resistance. Note the av erage error in the measurement. Adjust the C10K parameter by subtracting the measured error. F or example, if the input is exactly 10.00000 k Ω and the readout shows 10.
Par ameter Description C0 Adjusts the v oltage accuracy of at 0 mV C100 Adjusts the v oltage accuracy of at 100 mV CRJ Adjusts the internal RJC accuracy D A TE Records the date the t hermocouple chann.
sured error . For e xample, if the thermocouple temperature is actually 0.0°C but the 1529 reads 0.184°C, the CRJ parameter should be adjusted by subtracting 0.184. If it was previously 0.000 it should now be –0.184. 6. Record the date with the D A TE parameter .
10 Maintenance • The calibration instrument has been designed with the utmost care. Ease of operation and simplicity of maintenance have been a central theme in the product development. Therefore, with proper care the instrument should require very little maintenance.
11 T r oubleshooting In case you run into dif ficulty while operati ng the 1529 system, this section provides some suggestions t hat may help you solve the problem. Belo w are se veral si tuations that may ari se follo wed by possible causes and suggested ac - tions you might tak e.
Problem Solution Incorrect resi stance or voltage reading While attempti ng to measure resistance or voltage, the display shows an incorrect value or no value at all ( ..........) . Consider the follo wing possibilitie s: Poor or incorrect connecti on of the probe.
Message Recommended Action SYSTEMS: BA TTER Y NO T INST ALLED Cycle the pow er . Check that t he battery is properly connected. Replace the battery . CHANNELS: F AILURE Cycle the po wer . CALIBRA TION: DUE FOR RECAL Check that the instrument date is correct.
b) If you want to sa ve the do wnloaded data to a file, conf igure your ter - minal program to capture the inco ming text and save it to a te xt file. Re - fer to your terminal program’ s documentation for details on ho w to do this. 3. Determine ho w man y logged readings are stored in t he 1529’ s memory .
Conducted RF (IEC 61000-4-6). Therefo re, the operation of the instrument may be affected by e xcessiv e electromagnetic interference and the instrument may not perform within the nor mal specification limits in such an en viron ment.
battery , Hart recommends that you allow the battery to discharge com - pletely once a month. Y ou do this by allowing the Model 1529 to operate on battery power until it shuts down on its o wn.
set the Model 1529 to average the measurements, the data it logs reflects the moving av erage setting. 6. Ho w many probe coefficients can I store? Thirteen. Four sets in the main channels and nine sets in memory locations. 7. Are the readings really simultaneous in the simultaneous mode? Y es.
2. Ho w do I change the passw ord? Changing the password is explained in Section 8.5.3, Password, of this manual. 3. Ho w often does the Model 1529 need to be recalibrated? W e suggest that the unit be calibrated annually , but that may vary based upon usage and your company’ s policies.
